It was very well equipped and clean, a nice touch to have a pint of milk waiting in the fridge. It was a shame the water supply gave out a couple of times. Not the owners fault and he was exemplary in getting it sorted and providing emergency bottles/cans. The wood burner made the cottage feel cosy in the evening. A small improvement would be more comfortable sofas. It is beautifully situated, so quiet and only a mile from a delightful town. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen from the cottage and good views of the countryside all round.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you very much for your lovely comments. Unfortunately we had a problem with the mains water supply. We try to make everybody’s stay as comfortable as we can and it hopefully didn’t detract from your stay. We hope to see you again at High Kirkland.

We had a lovely holiday - lots to see and do but plenty of opportunity to relax too! The cottage was really nice. Well equipped and maintained. It's a pleasant walk to Kirkcudbright with shops, cafes, galleries and the castle. Well placed to visit all over the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heron View, particularly as we were blessed with beautiful weather. It made a good base to explore Dumfries and Galloway which was new to us.
