Description

Set in a quiet village location, this barn conversion is only 4 miles from a beach and within a 30-minute drive of both Exeter and Plymouth.

Situated on the owners’ 300-acre, working dairy farm with some public footpaths passing through, these two semi-detached, converted barns are ideal for a relaxing holiday with a quiet lane passing by. Milk Churn (ref UKC2400) sleeps four, and Hay Rick (ref UKC2401) sleeps 8, and they have been decorated and furnished to a very good standard. The Milk Churn has an open plan living space, whilst Hay Rick offers a spacious living/dining room and separate kitchen. Both have private outside seating areas, with amazing views across the Devon countryside, which is perfect for sitting down at the end of the day with a glass of wine.
The properties are set in a quiet village location and are only a short walk from the local village pub/restaurant. There are many walks that can be taken on the farm, see the cows go in for milking or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Dartmoor is just a short car drive away, where you can enjoy a Devon cream tea in one of the small beautiful villages, take a walk on the Tors or stop to see the ponies.
Exeter and Plymouth are both within a 30-minute drive. Plymouth has the Hoe, Barbican and many shops, and Exeter has its cathedral and quay. Teignmouth beach is less than 4 miles away and is ideal for a day out at the seaside. Visit Dawlish Warren, where you will find a nature reserve, beach, amusements and pubs. Torquay, Brixham and Dartmouth are also all worth visiting. Fans of Agatha Christie can visit Greenway, her family holiday home, which is open to the public. Beach 4 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
Milk Churn (ref UKC2400) and Hay Rick (ref UKC2401) can be booked together to accommodate up to 12 guests.

The Milk Churn Cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. It is thoughtfully and superbly presented, down to the finest detail and is mmaculate. The setting in the delightful Luton village is a treasure. A lush green serene valley offering quiet walks and a pub just a short stroll away. Owners Janice and David were warmly welcoming and sincere in there desire to make our stay enjoyable. Our experience at Milk Churn was delightful and memorable. Thank you so much from two very happy Australian travellers.

We had a wonderful time at the milk curn ; the cottage is newly done and has all the facilities; the owners who live next door are very helpful. Janice came and said hello to us soon after we arrived and made sure we were comfortable. Janice and David invited us to their farm and showed our 5 year old son the cows and milking station. We had wonderful day out in PAgnton and the Dartmoor national park , both of which are close by. We hope to return one day.

We rented the Milk Churn and Hay Rick cottage for a big family get together and had a great time. Both cottages are brand new and have absolutely everything you need . The owners were fantastic and couldn't have done anymore to ensure we enjoyed our stay. There were home made scones, cream and jam waiting for us on arrival, they showed us all around their dairy farm down the road letting the kids feed the calves and watch the milking. Unfortunately our visit coincided with the heavy snowfall in early March so we couldn't get out and about but the owners went and made us some sledges so the kids were kept entertained. When it was time to leave they used the tractors to clear a path in the snow and then escorted us back to the dual carriageway and were prepared to tow us if needed. The village itself has a lovely pub which is just a few mins walk away (even in 6 inches of snow).

Response on behalf of the Owner; Many thanks for your kind words. It was a great pleasure to meet you all, and so glad you enjoyed your stay despite the weather.
