Set on the edge of a village, these cottages are ideal for exploring Cockermouth and the northern fells and lakes, and enjoy stunning scenery without experiencing the same hustle and bustle of the central Lakes. Finished to a very good standard, the cottages have everything you need for family getaways including a hot tub each, and have shared use of a superb, private indoor pool with sauna and spa within the courtyard (at cost). Each cottage has its own style and attributes but all share lovely outlooks over farmland towards the Solway Coast, 4 miles. Halls Bank Farm ref 13196 is a 17th-century sandstone farmhouse, tastefully decorated. Its original outhouses stand in a walled courtyard where a stream runs through to the paddock. Berwyn Bank ref 15825 is a wonderful sandstone barn attached to Halls Bank Farm and has been skilfully converted, retaining much of its character, with some flagged floors and beams. A large living room on the first floor gives super views towards the Scottish mountains and Solway Coast. It was originally a bank barn, therefore there is an external level access to both the ground and first floor. It also has a private enclosed garden. Previously a barn in a former 17th-century farmsteading, Beckside ref 17926 is a charming single-storey, detached stone cottage that has been totally restored with exposed beams and interesting features. It stands adjacent to the swimming pool. Spacious and well-presented, Stackgarth ref 29673 is a charming, detached holiday bungalow with thoughtful and welcoming touches. The market town of Cockermouth is 6 miles, Keswick 14 miles and Buttermere 12 miles. Bassenthwaite Lake, 6 miles. Private fishing on the River Ellen for salmon and trout, 1 mile (free of charge). Golf and horse riding nearby. Beach 10 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile. The properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 28+1 guests.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room. Kitchen. 1 twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. First floor: 3 bedrooms: 2 double, one (four poster) with en-suite shower room and toilet. 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Z-bed for child available.

    Fantastic holiday with all my family , owner Carole could not do enough for us, the cottage was really comfortable with beautiful views. The pool was just fantastic, only sorry its booked for this year , but will definitely be going back , its a must

    absolutely beautiful cottage a little pricey for a property with a tired kitchen showers were not running properly in all bathrooms tried to contact owner to report the issue but got no reply the odd cob web but can be expected in such old accommodation .clean white towels beautiful touch. Definitely need to be a driver as its very remote WiFi would be a bonus as phone signal is appealing. beautiful surroundings

    Had a fabulous time at Halls Bank Farm, Cottage very homely and spacious. Did find the restricted pool times limiting. Guests sleeping at the front of the house found the cockerals woke them up very early. Beautiful setting and would recommend to friends and family. Didn't expect to be paying for electric upon leaving and a £25 hottub charge. We go to many lodges with hottubs and found the extra charges a little cheeky.

    The rooms were all clean and spacious. The facilities were amazing. A completely stocked kitchen, containing everything we might have wanted to cook and prepare food with. Clean bedrooms, with comfortable beds. Our own hot tub and garden. Then add in the pool and sauna, plus the amazing views. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. All in all, an amazing home from home. We'll be back!
