Explore Cornwall on foot from this property, with the South West Coastal Path just 1¾ miles away.

These two, single storey barns (refs 29635 and 29636) converted from an old grain store and grain mill, provide the perfect holiday accommodation to explore this quiet and secluded corner of Cornwall, but are only a short drive from the coastal town of St Mawes and the pretty little village of Port Holland, with its beach and rich history of smuggling. Country walks, coastal walks or just relaxing on the local beaches, many in quiet coves, this really is the quintessential Cornwall. Although secluded, the barns are situated ¾ mile from the South West Coastal Path and spectacular walks can be enjoyed along with equally wonderful inland walks to cater for all tastes. The properties are set on the Caerhays Castle Estate, with its famous gardens open to the public, and are close to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and a short drive to the Eden Project. The area is one of the most picturesque in Cornwall and is set in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Wildlife abounds in the area and you can expect to see badgers, buzzards and everything in between. A beautiful sheltered beach at Caerhays provides the perfect location for that family holiday, with rock pools and fine sand. Beautiful beaches can be found at Gorran Haven, Pendower and Portscatho which is home to the Hidden Hut Cafe. Beach ¾ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

All on ground floor: Living room with double sofa bed (for alternative sleeping)/dining room/kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft) with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 bunk with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Electric woodburner in living room included. Courtyard with sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue.

Both properties: Electric heaters, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Freezer. Wi-fi. Shared, ¼-acre lawned garden. Parking (2 cars). Welcome pack. No smoking. Couples and family bookings only.

Fantastic property with lovely, friendly, helpful hosts. There was everything you could need and it was cosy and luxurious at the same time. The welcome hamper was delicious and a lovely surprise.

Modern interior in an old building, spotlessly clean and very well equipped, and the most generous welcome pack of goodies we have ever encountered. Two bathrooms, very modern, but no bath. Comfy big bed. A nice size garden for the dog to explore and run around in, with hordes of the unusual silver backed Kansas pheasants in the fields around. The cottage is situated on a quiet lane with about a 15 minute walk down to the sea at Port Holland, a small village with limited facilities. The worst feature was the very narrow and bendy Cornish lanes which have somewhat limited signposting. Try to arrive before dark! Once there, you will find the gardens of Caerhays castle and of Heligan fairly close by, well into flower in mid-late March.

The cottage was well equipped and tastefully furnished. We particularly appreciated the courtyard, which was ideal for hosing down our two cocker spaniels as and when necessary. Nikki left a wonderful welcome package for our arrival, which was much appreciated and enjoyed. We would certainly recommend the accommodation and the surrounding beaches were a delight. We would have liked a local pub within walking distance as we were usually too tired at the end of the day to drive out again in the evening.

Had a great time, loved the cottage and the owner couldn't have been nicer. Lovely welcome hamper and fresh flowers. We should have stayed 2 weeks to get full benefit of country location. Would highly recommend.

This was our second visit and enjoyed it as much as the first, love the fact you can walk to the beach in 10 minutes, lovely and quiet although the pheasants were quite vocal but we liked that, its about a 15 minute drive to the supermarket but we are used to that anyway, there is a local farm shop nearby and a convenience store in Tregony, loads of dog friendly beaches, which our 2 dogs loved, would definately go again, Nikki was the perfect host, left us to it but was there if we needed her

Excellent holiday again with our second visit this year. Great accommodation, very friendly welcome. Good for children with outdoor spaces for playing in. Excellent sandy beach just down the road.

Our stay was great all bar our neighbor, they did not adhere to the request of the owner of not leaving dogs unattended, we had to put up with a lot of howling and barking from the two labs on a daily basis whilst they were out. Apart from this, we had a great week.

A splendid cosy cottage in a wonderful quiet rural setting; secluded courtyard and large garden so ideal for dogs. Very close to a lovely beach which is a 15 minute walk away. Nikki, the owner was so helpful and left us a welcome hamper. We will return!

The location and property were lovely. The only reason I gave the holiday an 8 is only because you defiantly need a car and there was no shop within walking distance. There was lots to do and the owner made us feel very welcome and looked after

We've just come back from a glorious week at Grain Store 2. It did help that the sun shone brilliantly all week but the cottage itself was brilliantly located for all of our favourite villages and dog friendly beaches. The cottage was very comfortable, airy and well equipped. There was plenty of room in the garden for our dog to have a good run. Nikki was lovely and her welcome package was very generous.
