Occupying a two storey wing of a charming Edwardian farmhouse on the edge of the Grampian Mountains and with easy access to Royal Deeside

Glensaugh Lodge Apartment occupies a two storey wing of a charming Edwardian farmhouse. Recently refurbished to a high standard it is set on the edge of the Grampian Mountains and with easy access to Royal Deeside. There are two good sized bedrooms on the first floor, both beautifully presented, in the style of an upmarket boutique hotel. The third bedroom on the ground floor is equally delightful. There is a large modern family sized bathroom on the first floor. Heating is provided by a new biomass boiler and heating system. With wonderful walks direct from the property, this is a perfect base for walkers, cyclists and anyone wishing to explore this lovely unspoilt area. There are plenty of quiet country lanes and forest tracks as well as more challenging hills for the more adventurous. There is a secure shed provided for mountain bikes and other outdoor gear. We had a great holiday, though not long enough of course! The lodge is in a beautiful location with everything we needed to prepare meals. We enjoyed walks and cycle rides directly from the lodge as well as travelling a short distance to other walks and fishing locations. We did have problems with the heating which stopped working after a day or two (seemed to coincide with the lighting of the biomass system). The owners were away themselves and the farm staff weren't able to help us with this. It wasn't too cold for the time of year but it would have been nice to have some heating in the evenings and first thing in the mornings. Unfortunately we didn't discover the mobile electric heater until the day we left!

Great peaceful location with lovely views and an amazing garden. Sue made us very welcome on arrival. Cottage met all our expectations, with all the stuff we needed to enjoy a great week in NE Scotland. Would happily stay there again.

Spectacular setting, fab views. The accommodation has everything you need, home from home. My 2 girls loved being able to play outside on their bikes and scooters. Gardens are an inspiration. Will definitely return as the location is great for out & about or for just being away from it all.
