This delightful, timber frame, black-and-white, thatched property (built 1420) is a fine example of a ‘cruck’ cottage, one of the earliest forms of English domestic architecture. Detached, it has a large garden with views over ancient fields and meadows. It is set along the main road to the village of Callow End (200 yards) which has a village shop, two excellent pubs and lovely walks. Within a short drive are the beautiful Malvern Hills, Great Malvern and Worcester with its fine cathedral, shops, excellent restaurants. Shops 100 yards.

One step down from hall to large living room with gas ‘coal-effect’ fire. One step down from hall to dining-room. One step down from passageway to well-equipped, farmhouse-style kitchen with vinyl floor. Beams throughout. One step down from hall to separate toilet. Steep stairs to first floor: One step down from landing to double bedroom with 5ft bed and small built-in wardrobe. Twin bedroom, with two steps down to second landing and second staircase. Beautiful, quirky cottage in a lovely area. Well equipped, but not clean. Most lightbulbs not working when we arrived - bit of an issue arriving in the dark, in a cottage with low beams and not much natural light. No welcome tray.

Beautiful ancient cottage but very comfortable and enjoying a wonderful large, private garden as well. The autumn colours were a delight during our stay and there was lots to do within a fairly short drive.

lovely looking cottage with a fabulous garden. Bedlinen and towels need to be replaced as they are very worn and more than one bath towel per person would be nice. The cottage would also benefit from another bathroom or at least a fixed head shower. Overall, just needs a luxury upgrade to match the beautiful exterior.

Beautiful house and garden, very well equipped. Loved the cows especially when one popped in to the garden and looked through the kitchen window! Walking on the Malvern hills was so lovely. Great holiday, would definitely come back.

Great location and idea for us with Malvern being so close. Parking was a bit tight and low beams in the bathroom and kitchen caused some headaches but otherwise all was OK.

A delightful cottage in an idyllic setting. We felt at home here immediately. Very peaceful. There was always some shade and some sun in the pretty garden. Only a few minutes walk to the two local pubs, both of which were welcoming and had good beer and meals at reasonable prices. A short drive from many beauty spots and places of interest. On the whole the house was spotless although there were a few places that needed a good dusting. The fan in the oven was very noisy and sounded as though it was on its last legs - I wasn't baking on holiday so this wasn't a problem.

The large garden is delightful with a great variety of mature trees, roses and other flowers as well as the spring bluebells and columbine in May. The view from the garden over the fields is lovely and the trees and hedge shield the garden from the road. The rooms were nicely furnished and as comfortable as they could be for four tall people living with fifteenth century beams. The beds were not particularly comfortable but we are all over sixty so perhaps too sensitive there. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed but all the pans were in a shocking state and we were reduced to using the two best of a bad lot.
