Fab location, cottage was very cozy and well equipped with everything and more! Owners were extremely helpful when I rang them before our stay and provided seat half way up steps and stool for shower after I broke my leg! We were made to feel very welcome,

We used the cottage to explore Edinburgh, Glasgow, and the Scottish area in general. It is ideally located to do so. Also our landlady helped us to come from the Edinburgh AirPort to the cottage by arranging a taxi, wich was cheaper and much more comfortable than travelling by public transport. We have appreciated our first visit to Scotland very much, but it was uncomfortable to have to plan the heater in the cottage 24 hours in advance. While we were there, however, we watched on tv the queen's 90 th birthday, the referendum campaign, the cruel murder on MP Jo Cox, and the Brexit. It was a horror story like Stevenson's "Jekyll and Hyde". We felt not welcome in England and among 40% of the Scottish people. Of course it was not so much against us, as we were to learn afterwards, as against the way the British isles are run. Yet we were relieved to return to The Netherlands and felt depressed long afterwards. The referendum was to us a disgrace from start to finish, and the campaign heartless and full of lies. Even for the BBC news fact checking was a byline.

This was our second visit to Garden Cottage and we will definitely be back again. The cottage is lovely and in a brilliant location for visiting the many attractions on offer in this part of Scotland. Linlithgow is a lovely little town, with plenty of places to eat and there is a choice of pubs which sell "real ale". A walk round the loch and a visit to the palace is a must. It's great to be able to catch the train into Edinburgh and Glasgow rather than having to drive.

Negatives. Shower needs updating as it dribbles. Sofas are uncomfortable. A lot of traffic noise upstairs from the windows. I could hear everything going on in the main high street from the revelers. Very tight parking. You must reverse into the drive. Positives. Great location. Extremely clean and tidy. Owners very helpful. Comfy beds. Heating good. Very well stocked kitchen/house!! Overall a great stay.

This quaint but modern cottage with its beautiful walled garden is a place we keep booming back to.
