We went for 1 week from 9th December for my husband's birthday. The cottage is upside down so lounge upstairs and view of Linlithgow cottage is lovely. Hosts are very welcoming and available if required and shortbread, milk and coffee very welcomed on arrival. Also they left scarf for my husband. The heating is storage heating so heat up over night and allow heat during the day which was a bit cool when we arrived but once they start being used fully are fine apart from that loved are stay and will be back. The four Mary's pub is lovely and Bar Leo is a lovely Italian restaurant with great service even during Christmas party period.

Our stay was perfect - everything you could need in a self-catering accommodation. Clean. Tidy. Great quality appliances and equipment. Good location. Fantastic views from the living area of Linlithgow Palace - brilliant for spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The owners were friendly and contact with them went smoothly from the start - we appreciated the welcome, attention to detail and they fact they came to say goodbye as we left the property at the end of our stay.

Garden Cottage is delightful. House, furnishings, owners, extra touches (wine and shortbread), location handy for Edinburgh and all mid-Scotland are all great. I just wish it were bigger so I could take my whole family!

The cottage is comfortable with excellent equipment including a washing machine and cleaning materials provided. It is close to local amenities but be aware of half-day / day closing for many shops on a Wednesday in Linlithgow. Owners were friendly. Lovely view of Linlithgow palace from the kitchen and stairs windows. Easy access to Edinburgh and Glasgow plus local attractions such as the Falkirk Wheel and The Kelpies. Shower is not massive and pressure is not fantastic but perfectly adequate. Shame about having to leave at 10am.
