The towels and bedding were clean and fresh however the cottage felt like it had not been dusted for a while. There were cobwebs everywhere and due to the location its expected but not not lampshades, the bedroom dressing table was very dusty. The bath was also very dirty and full of cobwebs too. The floorboards were creaking and the stairs were very creaky and noisy. The bed in the bedroom downstairs was very soft and uncomfortable. My mum who is 80 slept there one night as she finds it difficult to climb stairs, but she had to sleep upstairs the rest of the time. Fortunately she can still manage the stairs but with some difficulty. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped but needs updating. That said the views from the cottage is amazing and the stay was not bad.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. I am sorry your expectations were not met. We were disappointed by your comments on the cleanliness, considering the property was professionally cleaned prior to your visit. The bathrooms were spotless. We always ask that customers contact us if they have any problems with the property in order that we can come and sort them out as soon as possible, so that our guests can then carry on enjoying their holiday with us. I am sorry that you found the downstairs bed uncomfortable, no one has mentioned this before and previous customers have said what a lovely comfortable room this is.

This place has potential but needs a severe makeover to justify there charges

Barn is spacious and beds comfortable. Towels and bedding spotless. There was a safe space for the toddlers to play. Kitchen area needs some maintenance. Showers are either too hot or cold. Great base for visiting the Forest of Dean.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. We are pleased that you found the barn to your liking. Regarding the kitchen, we were only too happy to go out to buy some extra china although there were 14 other matching dishes available. The showers are actually new and were fitted the week before your booking, however should you have contacted us during your stay, then we would have been only too pleased to help.

We had a lovely time and the property met our expectations. The setting was stunning and it was well equipped. We stayed over Easter and it easily accommodated our family. We had no problems with any of the equipment. I had been concerned I would be cold but we were actually too hot! It felt 'lived in' so I felt comfortable with my young grandchildren playing there.

Fantastic owners of the farm, very welcoming. Children loved the farm and seeing the lambs. Barn was amazing, great size, all 8 of us and two dogs felt comfortable in. Perfect setting. Only down fall was cooker in kitchen not that great and the floor boards upstairs creaked at the slightest touch. So when one person was up, you were all up! Alittle dated and could do with a little tender loving care. But overall very happy with stay

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback regarding the cooker. The cooker is actually 12 months old and no previous concerns or issues have been reported. Should you wish to stay with us again, I will be more than happy to assist you with its use.

Wonderful large house, prefect for a large group including a number of young children. The huge dining table and lounge were particularly useful. Sadly when we visited the weather was awful and the roads were somewhat flooded around the house but the grounds would have been lovely in better weather.

The location would be lovely in the summer. We suffered at bit from the extensive rain. We may go back again but tens to always go somewhere different. On the whole better detail about the rooms would be good. We were suprised by the smallness and lcak of hanging space in three of the rooms. We managed but it we had invited an additional person (which we nearly did and the rooms would indicate it was OK)then it would have been very difficult

The downstairs bedroom would have been perfect for our elderly mother, but it felt cold and uninviting, a bit like a hospital room! We used an upstairs room for her instead which was fine as at the moment she can still manage stairs.
