The location would be lovely in the summer. We suffered at bit from the extensive rain. We may go back again but tens to always go somewhere different. On the whole better detail about the rooms would be good. We were suprised by the smallness and lcak of hanging space in three of the rooms. We managed but it we had invited an additional person (which we nearly did and the rooms would indicate it was OK)then it would have been very difficult

The downstairs bedroom would have been perfect for our elderly mother, but it felt cold and uninviting, a bit like a hospital room! We used an upstairs room for her instead which was fine as at the moment she can still manage stairs.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend at Foxcote, with my Mum, sisters, brothers in law, son, daughter in law and grandson., Plenty of space for all of us, lovely big kitchen, dining room and lounge. Location rather hard to find and most of our party got lost trying to find it but the owner did warn us that satnav was not accurate. Good place to stay for exploring Welsh towns such as Chepstow, Monmouth, Symonds Yat and Ross on Wye just to the north. The farmer and his wife were really friendly and even gave us a lovely bouquet of flowers.

Firstly - we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Foxcote. It's a great base for families with kids and dogs wanting to walk or explore the area. Having said that, we did find that the standard of fixtures and fittings within the barn were not well portrayed by the photos, which are a little misleading if someone is looking for a luxury cottage experience. They do show the property very favourably... If you need loads of space, a big table for family dinners and sharing a bottle of wine, and a huge lounge for kids and adults to play together then it's perfect. If you are looking for high quality fixtures and fittings to enjoy your break (as we sometimes are), you may be left a little disappointed. The owners were very friendly, and the farm was quiet and accommodating. The location is great to get into Ross-on-wye, and the garden big enough to let the dogs out to look after the kids. You can just hear the A40 from the garden although it is quite far away. To be honest, the price does indicate the level of accommodation, and as such we found it value for money just for the sheer amount of space, and the amazing farmhouse table which served as a centre point for much of our stay. Overall - It was perfect for the needs of our family, but more scrupulous cottage-goers may be left disappointed. I would recommend it for a low-cost getaway for a large group who want to have fun together.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments, we are glad you enjoyed stay, however we would just like to point out that last year we had new carpets and new furniture installed into the property.

A well equipped, spacious barn. Close to many places of interest , surrounded by country walks in beautiful countryside. Excellent oil heating. Warm and comfortable even in severely cold weather. Only negative was the dreadful floors which creak really badly on every floor.
