A warm and friendly welcome from the owners , cottage was very clean and cosy it was in a very good location for touring. Sadly the only down side for us was the position of fox cottage, we didn't realise how close to a very busy lane fox cottage was we underestimated how noisy the traffic would be. But having said all that we had a great holiday and where very comfortable

This was a late booking and we were most fortunate to get a cottage within the area we desired. The cottage is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean it had everything you required. For us walkers the South Downs way paths were all close within the village boundaries and a pub 500 yards from the cottage which is very handy if you do not wish to cook a meal in the evening. Only a small pavement separates you from the road and I did find that the noise from some of the cars did wake me up a few times so we will go back to this location but will hopefully rent one of the other cottages that are set further back from the road.

Beautifully presented cottage ideally located for exploring the area. It is only a few feet from the road so despite double glazing was a tad noisy at times and there is no direct access to the sitting out area from the door - something to note if taking a dog. Despite this I would return.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. We were surprised that you could not find the gate access to the outside seating area during your short break in February. We are always happy to explain/answer any questions our guests may have during their stay.

Lovely cottage very clean and well equipped. Very remote with only a nearby pub. No shops not even a paper shop within walking distance. No mobile phone reception and no wi fi so perfect if your intention is to get away from it all !

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your kind words on Fox Cottage. We do enjoy being in such a quiet, peaceful village location yet so close to Eastbourne and Brighton town centres. As for the Wi-Fi you mentioned we do have it and the details (password etc.) are all in the cottage information pack and for some networks there is also good mobile phone signals too.

I was delighted with Fox Cottage and the friendly and helpful owners. The location is great. Others have commented on traffic noise. While some cars appear to ignore the speed limit and 20 MPH would definitely suit the road through the village, I didn't feel traffic caused a problem. I am usually intolerant to noise - so I guess it's all about expectations and sensitivity.
