Sitting in a rural location, this superb property bursts with original features and nestles within 17 acres of wooded grounds.

Sitting peacefully in a rural location, this superb example of a detached threshing barn conversion bursts with original features including cast-iron driving wheels, stone walls and exposed beams. Nearby are the harbour towns of Aberystwyth and Aberaeron, which have great restaurants and boutique shops. Aberystwyth also offers a narrow gauge railway, castle grounds, art centre and live theatre/music. The Machynlleth Alternative Technology Centre 15 miles north is also worth a visit and outdoor activities for the family include walking, mountain biking, horse riding, bird watching, fishing-boat trips and golf. Felon Hedd is a beautifully restored mill in one of the most tranquil parts of Wales. Aled (the owner) and his family were respectful of our space during our stay.We have stayed at properties next to the owners and have NOT had that.Thank you Edwards family. ps lovely welcome of lemon drizzle cup cakes☺.

Felin Hedd is a beautifully converted mill and is set in Aled's farmland, opposite his home. We received such a warm welcome when we arrived, Aled showed us around the house, how everything worked, where everything was and left us with some delicious cakes which was a treat! We usually have had to figure this out in all other holiday houses we have visited so was a very nice touch. The house was extremely comfortable, had everything you require and more for your holiday; it even offered a bean to cup cappuccino coffee machine! The place was perfectly clean, well decorated and well presented. The games room was very well equipped and so much fun! We had a weekly tournament at air hockey, darts and pool, plus there was a hot tub on offer but we didn't utilise this as it was at an additional charge. The view did look amazing from it though so it would have been perfect. The grounds were fantastic for dogs and children, the garden wasn't that suitable for bigger dogs to roam free as although it was enclosed, the wall is knee high and any medium sized dog could easily jump which may be difficult if you're enjoying a BBQ, however, we didn't need to exercise them in the garden as Aled tells you about his land and the walks you can go on which are truly beautiful. He has created a lovely picnic spot down by the river which we enjoyed every day, and you can walk for hours around the fields and woodland seeing the sites, sheep, wildlife all away from traffic and the public. It was a real treat and our dogs absolutely loved swimming in the river every day. There is so much to do in the local area, the coast is within a 20 min drive, Devils Bridge and the red kite feeding centre, lovely woodland walks all close by too. All in all we had a fabulous relaxing week and would go back today if we could.

Such a lovely relaxing weekend, Aled could not have been more helpful. The Mill is beautifully appointed and equipped and the hot tub is fantastic. The scenery is breath taking, even if the weather is not. If you want to get away from it all, then this is for you. Tregarron is just 2 mins away with a great Spar if you run out of anything.

Fantastic week away. The barn was amazing, maintaining its history but with a real modern clean feel inside and all the modern amenities you could desire. The hot tub was fantastic and we loved the walk on the grounds to the river. The local town has a spar, take aways, pub and cash machine. We did lots of walking and cycling that we're all around 40 min away by car. Red Kites are a common sight and we saw more at the barn than we did at a local Red Kite feeding session. Overall it was a great experience and we'll certainly be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Felin Hedd, the property is beautifully converted and we were very comfortable. The beds in particular were very comfy and we all slept well - it was great having the two 5ft beds. We were a group of 4 adults with dogs and there was loads of room for all of us. It was ideal having the enclosed garden area / enclosed terraces so the dogs could wander freely and we knew they were safe. Also having the walk into the owners field or up the lane was ideal too. All with superb views. The coast is only about a half hour drive and the coastline from New Quay up to Aberystwyth is wonderful with plenty of places to stop and admire the view / eat fish and chips!. We also traveled further afield up to Beddgelert and up to Snowdonia where the scenery is awesome - a long day but worth it!. The feeding of the Red Kites is a MUST too at Ponterwyd, over 150 turned up when we were there, what an amazing sight. The owners are very friendly and whilst being on site to help with any questions you may have, also respect your privacy. The property, the hot tub, the grounds and the views were all great and we had a lovely week. Thank you very much.
