A cosy and comfortable cottage with lovely views. The owners were friendly and helpful. It was easy to reach the peninsula and Snowdonia and the shops. Would definitely like to return one day.

Whilst we had to cut our week short due to a family emergency, we did spend three nights there which was long enough to form an opinion. The location is good, although you need a car, and has a sea view. However it is on the coastal path so lots of people pass making you feel at times uncomfortable. The cottage itself is quite small and the lounge did feel a bit claustrophobic when it is dark outside (even during the day when the weather is bad). The WiFi was very hit and miss and we found ourselves able to only use one device at a time. There was no dedicated information pack, just a plastic bag with appliance instructions and a draw full of leaflets, but no guidance on recycling etc. There was a vase of fresh flowers which was nice, but some essentials missing such as soap in the two bathrooms, and whilst there were caddies for tea, sugar and coffee these were empty, this is the only cottage I have ever stayed in where these were not provided. This is a nice basic cottage and I am sure some people would love it but it just wasn't for us.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. I was very sorry to hear about the guests’ family problems, and it’s a shame their vehicle broke down before arriving at the Cottage – an unfortunate start to their holiday I must say! I rang them 2 days later to enquire how things were going and they advised they were very pleased with the Cottage so I am somewhat surprised by this review. We are only 500 meters from main Pwllheli – Porthmadog road, via a lovely wooded concrete drive and as advertised the property is on a working farm situated amidst peaceful countryside on the outskirts of Llanystumdwy with Snowdonia National Park only a few miles away so yes a car is needed to explore the area. It is the first time somebody has mentioned people walking past the Cottage, as there is only 1 window facing the coastal path, this hasn’t been an issue for previous guests. The cottage living room is 21’ x 10 ’by 11’ high with open beams ceiling so we are bemused that with 3 people in the party in a property that can sleep 4 how they felt claustrophobic. The Wi-Fi can be unpredictable due to the service provider, see terms and conditions of the booking agency. I spend 20-30 mins on arrival to welcome, explain and show guests around and the following day I visit to see if everything is okay. The council recycling trolley is self-explanatory as I pointed out (paper, plastic, glass) which is 3 meters from the door. I do not supply soaps, teas, coffee as everyone’s taste is different. I’m very sorry that these guests didn’t enjoy their stay despite giving me the impression they had.
