We stayed for 2 weeks in Aug 2017. Unfortunately, the weather was most of the time wet and cold. Therefore, we had to stay a lot of time in the cottage. Although in August, the interior temperature was around 15 to 16 degrees which we found very cold. Furthermore, wet things, e.g. from rain, did not dry in the house. We were not able to switch on the heating. Aside of these deficiencies ,we also found nice things to tell. The cottage is located in a very nice landscape and the cliffs from Trebarwith and others like Tintagel are a footwalk away. The owners are helpful and responsive. With a working heating, we would have loved it.

Response on behalf of the owner: The heating is available on request & having spoken to you most days you were here, we were surprised & rather disappointed you did not mention you were cold as that could have been remedied there & then. Sadly the weather has been rather a let down this August, although you were able to sit outside on several days. We hope if you choose to visit us again you will experience a whole lot more sunshine.

Culvada is a beautiful little cottage in a wonderful surrounding. With footpath that leads straight to the beach - which at low tide is truly astonishing - this cottage is a perfect holiday house. It's clean, cosy and family friendly. We loved it!

A beautifully restored stone barn, very spacious, warm and cosy on a working farm, much appreciated by our daughter whose uncles and aunts are all farmers! Fantastic location with a stunning view of the hills to the sea from the farm entrance. The owners, who have worked the farm for generations are very friendly and helpful. It is possible to walk down to the beach and cove across fields and down a steep path from opposite the farm entrance. We didn’t use the car for the first few days of our visit, walking along the cliff tops all the way to Tintagal. Come here if you are a walker, bird watcher, want to enjoy the stunning cliff tops and sandy coves and you really want to get away from it all. Do not come here if you are expecting immediate access to shops, towns or ‘busyness’ as this is a very rural and out of the way location! Having said that within 30 minutes’ drive it is possible to get to a number of lovely other lovely places like Port Isaac, Boscastle and bigger towns such as Bodmin, Wadebridge and Bude. The Eden Project and Newquay are less than an hour’s drive away. We brought our bikes and took them to the start of the Camel Trail (a disused railway turned into a fabulous cycle track). We had a glorious day following the trail all the way via Wadebridge to Padstow. We can thoroughly recommend Culvada as an utterly perfect place to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and let the stress of busy life drain away.

We could not fault the location or the property in any way. The cottage was fully equipment and internally was to a very high standard with the luxury of fantastic under floor heating. I we were to return to that area again would hesitate to book Culvada. Regards Bryan & Renata Fisher
