Perched on a narrow ledge in the unique preservation village of Crovie at the base of the Gamrie Bay cliffs

Crovie Cottage is situated in the heart of the unique fishing village of Crovie. Perched on a narrow ledge at the base of the Gamrie Bay cliffs, this historic preservation village is the epitome of unspoilt seaside locations. It offers a unique and utterly charming seaside holiday experience. Crovie Cottage has been completely gutted, renovated and refurbished throughout. This delightful fishing cottage now provides a very high standard of accommodation just yards from the sea. The main living area is open plan. The cottage door opens onto the lounge area, with original flagstone flooring and a large welcoming wood burning stove at the far end. Divided by a low wall, the kitchen has been beautifully built, with Belfast sink, integrated units and in the adjoining alcove a solid wood dining table with wooden bench pews. The steep cottage stairs lead up to two pretty bedrooms, accommodating up to 5 people. There is a superb modern wet room on the ground floor.

For a remote coastal resort, Crovie has to be at the top. So close to the sea the Boxing Day storm (storm Conrad) was truly an experience to be remembered. Good dog walking up behind the cottage. Billy, the only resident of Crovie, as seen on BBC Countryfile the week before was a real character. Couldn't understand a word he said!! Cottage itself was comfortable.

A tranquil and remote cottage right on the sea front. The cottage is quaint and has been modernised to a good standard. Beds were comfortable and clean. The kitchen well equiped with good quality items. The lounge is a good size for a family with a flag stone floor. We enjoyed ourselves immensely walking our dog every day to Gardenstown. Pebble painting and rock pooling locally and finding remote beaches to stop for flasks of coffee. My only negative was the cottage was really cold when we arrived after 12 hours in the car travelling and unfortunately the shower room had not been cleaned thoroughly. The vacuum did not work either. Having the dog I wanted to keep the light coloured rug as clean as possible. I'm sure this was an over sight and because we arrived so tired and cold some pre warm would have been welcome. All in all a beautiful cottage, just what we needed and lovely locals.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments and so happy you enjoyed our cottage. The vacuum cleaner has now been replaced as has the rug. Apologies for it feeling cold after such a long journey, that must have felt miserable. To counteract that we always leave the woodburner set to light, in our experience this heats the cottage very quickly. In addition there are 3 mobile electric heaters. Thanks again.
