Description

Perched on a narrow ledge in the unique preservation village of Crovie at the base of the Gamrie Bay cliffs

Crovie Cottage is situated in the heart of the unique fishing village of Crovie. Perched on a narrow ledge at the base of the Gamrie Bay cliffs, this historic preservation village is the epitome of unspoilt seaside locations. The only village in Britain where it is impossible to use a car (visitors park at the far end of the village and walk the few yards along the sea front). It offers a unique and utterly charming seaside holiday experience. Crovie Cottage has been completely gutted, renovated and refurbished throughout. This delightful fishing cottage now provides a very high standard of accommodation just yards from the sea. The main living area is open plan. The cottage door opens onto the lounge area, with original flagstone flooring and a large welcoming wood burning stove at the far end. Divided by a low wall, the kitchen has been beautifully built, with Belfast sink, integrated units and in the adjoining alcove a solid wood dining table with wooden bench pews. The steep cottage stairs lead up to two pretty bedrooms, accommodating up to 5 people. There is a superb modern wet room on the ground floor.

Amazing! If you want to get away from the stresses and strains of life this is the place to do it. Crovie itself is stunning. The views across he bay and onto the cliffs surrounding, are breathtaking. Watching the sun dip into the sea at sunset was a treat. The cottage was snug but a great use of a small space. My husband , 3 kids and me felt comfortable, a real home from home. Well equipped; log burner a real treat after a day rock pooling and diving off the pier into the crystal clear waters. Kids and the adults loved the freedom of roaming the beach with no fear of traffic. Crovie so friendly. Everyone very welcoming. Cannot wait to return to the "north cost riviera" !!

The owners clearly look after their customers. Everything has been thought of. It's like a home from home. We absolutely loved our stay. I really appreciated the gift basket of goodies too. We loved it so much I've booked it again as soon as we got back. Thank-you for a warm and welcoming stay.

For a remote coastal resort, Crovie has to be at the top. So close to the sea the Boxing Day storm (storm Conrad) was truly an experience to be remembered. Good dog walking up behind the cottage. Billy, the only resident of Crovie, as seen on BBC Countryfile the week before was a real character. Couldn't understand a word he said!! Cottage itself was comfortable.
