The only reason for giving 8 for Comfort and Equipment is the lack of two decent reading lamps in the sitting room (and a couple of small tables by the chair/sofa to put a cup of coffee on). (No mirror in the double bedroom might be inconvenient for those who sleep in there). But..these are only minor suggestions. it's a super little cottage.

Wonderful Wells! Clipper Cottage was the perfect base for our lovely short break away. Everything we needed and in the perfect location. We would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, cosey and comfortable stay. Thumbs up from us!

Nice cottage, well presented but felt heating not adequate in large living room but we did stay when very cold! Heating on before arrival would have been nice! Although lovely cottage in winter don't think we would use it during summer too busy! Many thanks anyway and also a welcome pack would be very much appreciated!!!

This was our second visit to clipper cottage, it’s perfect for our needs, dog friendly, well equipped, lovely little cottage, everything I would expect from an older building but still modern. Location- can’t be any closer to the quay/beach and shops! We will be using it again!

Excellent location, warm cosy cottage. Only downside was hard pillows!

We had a lovely stay at Clipper Cottage and had a relaxing and enjoyable time at Wells next the Sea. We picked this cottage because it was dog friendly, had an enclosed garden, was well situated and it proved to be perfect for our needs.

Lovely little cottage, quaint, cozy and has everything anyone could possibly need. Clean and comfortable too. The cottage is situated in the centre of Wells town but away from the hustle and bustle of the harbour. Only a 5 minute walk to either the harbour or Staithe Street. Parking provided in a car port at the rear. Also, little, very private garden at the side/rear. We'd visit again :-)

Lovely cottage near to town centre and quay, car parking space which is essential for peak period. Ideal for couples or families, would recommend it.

Had a lovely time is a well resourced comfy cottage. Beautiful enclosed garden and a guaranteed parking space were a real bonus. The location was brilliant. Small issues with lighting cooker and kettle staying on and strength of water flow in shower but these were minor and did not spoil our enjoyment. Will hopefully return and would highly recommend .

The cottage is in a prime location for exploring wells and surrounding area. Lovely cottage and garden but does need a thorough clean after each occupant as we found remnants of food/hair in kitchen draws and bathroom had dusty skirting boards. Could do with better lighting in bedrooms/lounge but overall we found the cottage well equipped for a long weekend.Although there is a wood burner we couldn't get it to light properly and no instructions!!! Also arrived late and no matches to light it.

The cottage was a story of two halves, bedrooms (though we only used one) were very well presented and extremely comfortable and furnishings were top quality but sadly the downstairs of the property in particular the kitchen let the whole holiday experience down. The gas cooker has seen better days and we noted that we were not the only people who have had problems lighting the gas oven (the electronic lighter on the cooker does not work), Matches were eventually found to manually light the oven and gas hob though on one occasion I had lit the gas oven (ensuring the flame was on) only to smell gas a few minutes later as the flame had gone out, the oven has no fail safe mechanism which I feel is highly dangerous especially if small children are in the property. The kitchen units need upgrading and perhaps next time the cottage is empty the 'caretaker' can move the fridge and oven and clean underneath as there are food particles and grease (I don't expect to go on holiday and start to clean other peoples mess). The kettle was full of lime scale and was greasy on the outside, we never used the toaster as it was full of crumbs and again not very clean (how much do these items cost to replace for goodness sake) There was a smell of damp in the cottage which again quite a few previous guests had commented on this, we feel that if this is an ongoing problem the owners should rectify it prior to taking more bookings. We did not leave any comments in the visitors book as we noticed that if any negative comments were made the 'caretaker' responded with their own comment i.e. if the cottage was not clean and dog hairs were found the comment was 'the cleaners do not have much time between guests leaving and guests arriving ! or There was no bath mat found the comment was 'the previous guests had used two !'.. If the owners/caretakers cannot take constructive criticism perhaps the hospitality industry is not for them. We have stayed in a lot of holiday cottages and have never before been so disappointed, its the first holiday where I have looked forward to going home!
