The media tv system at the property is appalling. 1 tv in a small area off the main lounge ,away from the open fire. so families wishing to watch a film etc would not be able. Also the system is old and poor quality.

Fantastic Hogmanay week spent at Carness West, location is great off the beaten track a little bit but not to isolated. Facilities in the house are excellent with everything you could need. Not having wifi was a blessing in one way especially to get away from work but on the other hand would have been handy to research ferry times etc, however plenty of places around to get onto wifi. Would recommend Carness West to anyone.

A great house in a lovely area. Spacious and well equipped. Comfortable beds and pillows although in the second double bedroom the duvet seemed too small for the bed! Upstairs was faultless other than a tired and not particularly clean oven. It got extremely hot upstairs as there are lots of windows and sky lights. This wasn't a problem as it rained a lot and was generally much cooler than it should of been for the time of year. However, blinds on the skylights and back of the house would be useful in the height of summer as the room gets very very warm. Did think for a place that's advertised as five star the two bathrooms were tired, radiators rusty and ensuite showdoor not as clean as we would have liked but probably because it is past its best. Those two rooms didn't seem to be in keeping with the rest of the house. All in all an enjoyable stay. A little attention to the points mentioned and it would be perfect.

Great location for exploring Schotland in all directions. We loved the views from the upper floor. We did have to clean up a little bit at the beginning (cloth in breadbasket, vacuumed the upper floor, under the couches, the dryer was full of residue). This was not really a problem, we just like things to be clean. ;-)

Superb property and location for our needs, loved it. Only negative is the seating for and size of television.
