In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

First floor accommodation boasting a 5ft wide four poster bed and views over the Dorset Downs.

Set in the unspoilt village of Bothenhampton about a mile from Bridport and the new harbour of West Bay, where the TV series "Broadchurch" was filmed, and its beaches. The historic rope-making town of Bridport with its twice weekly market is a gateway town to the Jurassic Coast, England’s only natural World Heritage Site. Sweet Briar (ref 8234) and Buzzards (ref 8235, first floor) are in the east wing of an old country house and Farthings (ref 19292) is in the west. The holiday properties have views over the fields and woodland of the Dorset Downs. Many badgers have made their sets in the hill behind, and there is an abundance of wildlife. For the past few years holidaymakers in Sweet Briar (ref 8234) and Buzzards (ref 8235) have been able to watch a family of deer grazing in the adjacent fields and during the summer months, bats put on an amazing aerial display. Perfect for relaxing or more invigorating walking holiday in this AONB, which includes extensive NT land. Chesil Beach, one of the finest barrier beaches, begins at West Bay. Lyme Regis with its Cobb and the famous fossil beach at Charmouth are close by. Not far away is the ancient town of Dorchester with its Iron Age hill fort and Roman town house and many other sites of historic interest. Spend a day at Abbotsbury Swannery, the only place in the world where you can walk among the baby swans (hatching from May). Golf course and leisure centre nearby. Bike hire available locally. Ideal for exploring the Jurassic Coast or for just relaxing in this tranquil village. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

All on first floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft four poster), 1 single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Gas central heating included. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. No children under 12 years.

All properties: Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Microwave. Wi-fi. Parking (1 car). No smoking.

We really enjoyed our stay in the lovely, well equipped apartment. It is in a great position to enjoy the various costal towns and walks near West Bay. The only thing that could improve the stay would be access to an outside seating area.

We had a very quiet, restful stay at Buzzards. We really appreciated the welcome hamper with home made bread, scones, jam and clotted cream along with locally produced apple juice, cereal, milk and tea bags. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It's in a great location, a quiet village but close to all local ameneties and the Jurassic coast. Well worth a visit.

Buzzards is a fantastic apartment superbly located in a lovely village, and the welcome pack was brilliant. It is just the ideal place to visit all the wonderful surroundings of Dorset. Close to all the pleasant places to visit, such as Dorchester, Lyme Regis and Charmouth, plus a lot more. In a word Great.

Bothenhampton is a great location, really quiet but within quick and easy reach of Bridport and West Bay. Buzzards is very tastefully decorated- modern and cosy at the same time. Gorgeous kitchen with modern, quality appliances. Lovely pictures of local scenes throughout and I fell in love with the gorgeous big oval mirrors! Always plenty of hot water, shower lovely and heating easy to use if you need it. Easy to get to many Dorset attractions and beaches. The owners live next door and were lovely - friendly and really helpful. Unfortunately our dog fell ill whilst we were there and they were really helpful with information about the nearest vet and asked how she was doing afterwards. Finally, a lovely touch of home baked bread, scones, plus cream, jam and milk plus Dorset teabags and muesli! The only downside was the stairs which make things more difficult with an older, less mobile dog (unless they're small enough to carry). Apologies for no photos but problem with the dog rather took over. Would definitely return 😀
