Enjoy a family holiday in this spacious property, with its own indoor swimming pool and large garden which children will love!

Featuring its own indoor heated swimming pool, this spacious attractive house with surrounding garden, stands in a hamlet on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Well equipped and comfortable, it boasts spacious rooms and all modern comforts, making a superb family holiday base.
Just 10 miles away to the east lies the wonderful North Yorkshire coastline. Filey has a wide sandy beach which shelves gently into the sea, whilst the resort of Scarborough, popular with families, offers an excellent choice of restaurants and a theatre. Magnificent Flamborough Head with its bird sanctuary is 18 miles. The historic sea port of Whitby (25 miles), where the legendary Captain Cook learned his trade, has a beautiful new marina. The old town is a jumble of narrow streets, with ancient houses and little craft shops, and above the town, high on a headland, are the jagged ruins of Whitby Abbey, still an impressive sight.
Inland is the market town of Malton, where a museum houses finds from the Roman camp which once stood here. Five miles to the west, Castle Howard, one of England’s grandest houses, is well worth a visit. Surrounded by magnificent parkland, it contains fine furniture and paintings, as well as Britain’s largest private collection of dress from the 17th-century to the present day. The attractive town of Pickering at the southern foot of the moors, is home to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, which travels across Heartbeat country. The city of York can be reached in an hour or so, with its superb museums, excellent shops and splendid minster. Flamingo Land and Ayton Castle are also nearby. There is an excellent golf course at Ganton (2 miles) and first-class riding stables at Snainton (7 miles). Good pubs and restaurants can be found in the surrounding villages. Village shop 1 mile, supermarket 3 miles.

The pool was amazing and perfect temperature. The cottage was well equipped and a lovely hamper of treats left by the owners. My only complaint was the comfort of the beds other than that I would recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Brompton Lodge. The house was clean and warm on arrival and the welcome basket was a really nice touch. From reading others reviews, people had mentioned the decor being a little dated but it didn't affect our stay in any way - the property is as you see it in the photos. All the bedrooms were a good size and beds were comfortable too. The only thing we found was that the shower pressure wasn't great in the two ensuite showers, even after adjusting the shower heads. Otherwise we had a great stay and really enjoyed our time at Brompton Lodge, the pool was great and there was lots of outdoor space for children to run around and explore.

Lovely holiday at Brompton Lodge. The swimming pool is fantastic for a family group and the large garden gives plenty of space for outside games. The cottage has lots of space inside and with sky and wifi to keep everyone happy. The interior decor is in good condition and everything was clean. The cottage is a great base for exploring York and the North Yorkshire countryside. The owners could not have been more friendly or helpful. Very highly recommended.

Spacious well stocked house, somewhat dated decor but clean and tidy. Nice indoor pool, however temperature was too highly for first few days. Once this was corrected it was lovely to use. Well positioned for access to Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington. Car essential. Enjoyed the week with fantastic weather.

This is a well equipped house in a good location. The swimming pool is just what is needed for those early morning or evening sessions. The dogs enjoyed the grounds and the nearby walks. This is our second visit and we hope to come again.
