Bram Cragg Barn is a stunning conversion created from the former 19th-century byre and barn to a holiday home with a wonderful mix of oak beams and slate features combined with stylish modern fittings. The spacious open plan living room is at first floor level to take advantage of the views accross the valley. The barn stands detached, adjacent to the owners’ home and two holiday lodges, in an idyllic and peaceful setting. There are unspoilt views in every direction towards Helvellyn and Castle Rock, Blencathra, Skiddaw and High and Low Rigg. The location is delightful, farm amimals graze close to the barn and footpaths directly from the house give access not only to the more challenging walking routes but to gentle strolls. The scenery is spectacular and walkers, cyclists and drivers will find the immediate surroundings breathtaking. Central for exploring the Lake District National Park. Shop 41/2 miles, pub and restaurant 21/2 miles.

Ground floor: Utility room. 3 bedrooms: 2 double (one 5ft), both with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin with en-suite shower room with toilet. First floor: Living/dining area/kitchen with beams. 1 double with en-suite bathroom with spa bath and toilet. Separate toilet.

    Beautifully finished property with excellently well equipped kitchen. Ideal location. Friendly and informative owners. Plus an enclosed large play paddock for children.

    Bram Cragg barn was fantastic, this barn should have a 5 star rating, everything spotlessly clean down to the gas BBQ, if it rained we had a bbq and drinks just soaked up the view, the children played with the two sheep dogs Fly and Gem, they also fed the chickens and collected eggs with Gill, they both had a little cry when they had to leave their new friends, we had a great day at the mine just down the road and fantastic day on Quad ride in the forest, Gillian and Duncan was always on hand to answer any questions. We was so impressed with the barn we immediately booked for next year.

    Excellent holiday home, easy to find with direct walks from the house. Be aware no pub in walking distance, but that didn't dampen our holiday. Keswick a few miles away with wide variety of restaurants and shops. Only one small criticism and that is the property is listed as dog friendly, upon arrival it was made clear that pets are not allowed upstairs or in the bedrooms. (the house is an upside down house) if you are a dog owner, who treat your dog like they are a member of the family then like us you wouldn't want to keep them behind a stair gate. (Appreciate no pets on furniture etc) In addition the holiday lodges are located right in front on the garden and are quite close which spoilt the view slightly when BBQ'ing in the evening. Finally, unexpectedly we were asked for a £50 cash deposit from the owners upon arrival (whose property is located at the back of the house) this was not mentioned in the booking process, it's returned after your holiday by cheque. It's a great holiday home but need to amend the listing or relax the rules re the pets!!

Pets are allowed upstairs due to the nature of the property but not in the bedrooms or on furniture. The £50.00 security deposit is stated within the additional information that has to be read before the booking can be processed.     Fantastic place, stunning location too. The owners were friendly and helpful. Can't fault it at all. We have even booked up to stay again next year 😀

    Lovely place... Would definitely go again. Worth noting that there are steps in the living room which could be challenging for anyone with unsteady toddlers/crawling babies

    This has been our fourth time at Bram Cragg Barn - and we've just booked for our fifth trip there next year. The barn is by far the best self catering property we've ever stayed in. The bedrooms - and especially the en-suites - are excellent, the main lounge / dining area is lovely with fantastic views, and the garden area has the best set-up for a barbecue we've ever seen. Added to that the owners are friendly and helpful, without being in any way intrusive, the loacation is wonderful - just a short drive from Keswick yet set in a very quiet area right amongst the major Lake District fells. Its pretty much perfect!
