This beautiful cottage was perfect for our four day break at the beginning of November; so cosy and warm and extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need whatever the weather. We enjoyed days out exploring the local area from Kielder Water and the observatory to Lindisfarne and Bamburgh castle, and found they were all within reasonable distance from the cottage. The village itself is quite small, with the nearest shop in Otterburn, but is well worth a stroll around - our trip even coincided with the annual firework display and an impressive bonfire on the green right outside our window! Beds super comfortable, kitchen full of equipment, guidebooks, maps, torches, games, huge library to choose from, blankets galore - what's not to love!! Our main reason to visit the cottage was it being located in the Northumberland Dark Sky Park, and allowed us to drive two minutes away from the cottage to complete darkness and beautiful skies perfect for astrophotography. I recommend a visit to the observatory at Kielder too; even with cloudy skies the evening event we attended was informative and interesting, taking around 35-40 minutes to reach from the cottage itself. I would recommend staying here to anyone wishing to visit the area, and hope to return myself in future!

A clean, well-equipped cottage in a rural location surrounded by wonderful scenery. A place to get-away-from-it-all.

A lovely roomy cottage in a quiet village, good base for exploring northumbria. The pub next door was closed and up for sale. Hope it reopens.
