Description

The perfect family holiday home, quiet village setting, yet just a stone’s throw from York.

Conveniently located in the picturesque village of Askham Bryham, just 5 miles West of York is Blacksmith’s Cottage. This traditional brick built cottage enjoys an enviable village location, yet just a stone’s throw from the magnificent cathedral city of York, offering guests the best of both worlds - the buzzing ambience of the historical city of York during the day, and the easy journey back to the peaceful ambience of Blacksmith’s Cottage during the evening. The cottage itself is traditionally arranged over two floors and offers spacious accommodation for five guests in three bedrooms. The lounge/dining room has patio door leading onto the large, fully enclosed lawned garden with paved patio area, ideal for children and pets.

Pleasant cottage good size for our family. Nice garden for the dog. Great location near York. Could do with a more thorough after use clean i.e 6 Yorkshire puddings left on the oven from precious rentals and toys under furniture.

Great location for visiting York and surrounding area. Beautiful enclosed garden and good sized rooms. Even with 2 teenagers and 3 adults and a dog, never felt full. Kitchen had good amount of equipment but NOT a dishwasher. Wifi was rubbish, you will need to use data. Local amenities - no shops in village, but Tesco superstore 10 minutes away in York (best use the back road, not the A64); pub was okay, dog friendly; no obvious walks for dogs locally, would have been good to have had a map with suggestions from the cottage.
