Dating back 200 years, this grand detached country house, has open fire, multi-fuel burners and chandeliers. Symonds Yat is easily reached.

This grand detached country house is set within 2 acres of attractive gardens, beautifully presented with formal lawn, walled garden, arboretum and pretty rosebeds. The holiday property dates back 200 years and is full of character, with an open fire, multi-fuel burners, beams and chandeliers, and has been tastefully decorated by its current owners, who live next to the grounds.
This lavish retreat is an ideal location from which to explore the surrounding rolling countryside and the many villages with black-and-white timbered houses and inns. The nearby market town of Ross-on-Wye has many historic buildings and public cliff-top gardens offering excellent views of the River Wye, and Hereford is well worth a visit, with its cathedral (which contains the famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library), museums, art galleries and bustling mid-week market.
Also enjoy our national heritage in Monmouth, a Tudor border town associated with Henry V. Or visit Hay-on-Wye, famous for its books and festivals. Close by is Kilpeck Church, perhaps the best preserved Norman church in the country. Symonds Yat offers everything from gentle rambles to canoeing within its magnificent natural setting, or join the network of pathways comprising the Wye Valley walk. What a wonderful house, the photos don't convey how big this place is, 11 of us went and the main lounge and the dinning table had plenty of room for us all. It also felt very homely and had everything you need to feed 11 people including 2 ovens.

I booked this house for my parents 50th Aniversary weekend, for 15 of us, ranging from 5 months to 93 years.... The house more than exceeded our expectations, much larger than the photos indicated. With 10 adults and 5 children we had plenty of room. The garden is wonderful with a lovely view. As the weather was great over the 4 days , lots of time was spent outside, the kids loved it. Having downstairs bedrooms and bathroom was great for grandad, he didn't have to climb stairs. The only downside was the amount of nick-naks about the house, which we had to move as the kids wouldn't leave alone, we would have hated it if they had broken anything. Overall this is a very homely house with plenty of space, well equipped, great garden and I am sure we would love to visit again in the future. Thank you for a memorable stay

Very comfortable house with an interesting eclectic mix of pictures. Slightly old fashioned furnishings but a well equipped kitchen. Bedrooms and bathrooms as expected. Excellent sun room with a delightful view of the interesting and well stocked garden and countryside beyond. Difficult exit on to the busy Hereford road. Some trimming back of the foliage near the gate would improve the visibility.

Lovely property with some really thoughtful Xmas extras. Very spacious, comfortable and clean. Very well equipped kitchen. Ample parking. It would have been nice to have had some logs for the open fire on the first night and we all thought the property would benefit from having WiFi available (currently isn't). Location wise it is situated on a busy main road (albeit set back and quite). It was difficult to locate initially arriving in the dark.

Downstairs bedroom extremely cold. Dining room fire/ chimney blocked and not working. Lovely house overall. Felt a little unwelcome with all the does and don't see and threats of fines.
