Pity. We were there 2016, enjoyed the stay and went back 2017 expecting a comfortable, undisturbed holiday for the over 70s but felt disappointed this year. We had problems with draughts, the old boiler and controls that are now replaced, and had the plumbers midweek. Not what we expected or wanted when we booked.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. We are both surprised and disappointed by these comments. We discussed with the guest, the urgency to replace the boiler, because it had become unreliable, before they arrived. The guest understood and agreed that the visit would happen on the Thursday and that it would be done with the least possible inconvenience i.e. during the day, whilst they were out, and the work was completed before their return. The 'problem' with draughts was easily rectified by simply closing the windows that had been left open, to air the house on their arrival. The 'problem' with the controls was also quickly resolved over the phone, very late one evening. The guest had misunderstood the written operating instructions and switched the heating off instead of advancing it. The guest had asked me to ignore their e-mail of complaint and thanked me for talking him through the controls. We had hoped our quick response to rectify the problems demonstrated our commitment to providing a positive holiday experience for the guest.

We had a wonderful time at Anchorage, Lynn the caretaker looked after us really well. The property was a fantastic base to visit the local area and was like a home from home. Our dog loved the secure rear garden, just a shame the photos of it didn't do it justice

Had a great stay at Anchorage, idea base for touring.. Lyn the caretaker was great, very helpful.. Anchorage was very well stocked with everything you would need to run a family home.. Only negative for us (and it isn't massive) is that the water pressure is very low in the shower and could do with a power shower..
