Customers’ Choice Award 2016, 2017 & 2018
A great base for seaside enthusiasts. After a day exploring come back and relax in front of the cosy woodburner.

Anchor Cottage is located in a conservation area within the stunning town of Deal on the coast of Kent, and is a comfortable terraced property built in the 1800s, and has a few characterful low door lintels. Set in the quiet small back streets of Deal, yet in a central position, it is just a short stroll to the amenities and history Deal has to offer. There is an 18th-century pub and micro ale house/cocktail bar within a few minutes’ walk, and very good restaurant within 5 minutes’ walk. The quirky style of this holiday property boasts a quaint open-plan kitchen with dining area and a welcoming living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a Victorian style roll-top bath. With local attractions on your doorstep, as well as excellent fishing on the pier, Anchor Cottage will be a great base for couples and seaside enthusiasts. Locally, there is a number of shops, bars and restaurants, and Walmer and Deal castles are also popular attractions. Broadstairs is a short drive with its award-winning beach at Viking Bay, or for a touch of history and culture, take a short drive, train or bus into the famous city of Canterbury, walk around the ancient city walls and explore the fantastic cathedral. For a trip further afield why not go to France for the day on one of the many daily ferry services from Dover. Beach 500 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Some low doorways. Ground floor: Living room with beams. Kitchen with dining area and tiled floor. First floor: 1 double bedroom (5ft zip and link, can be twin). Bathroom with roll-top bath, shower cubicle and toilet. Second floor: 1 twin bedroom.

I stayed at Anchor Cottage for a month whilst my house was being renovated and am therefore not a typical holiday maker. The cottage was very comfortable and with an excellent standard of fit. Some of the doorways are very low and my tall husband had a challenge with the shower! The courtyard is very small.Parking is off site in a nearby car park for which you have a free residents' permit. The owner was readily on hand and could not have been more helpful. I would recommend this cottage. It sits well in an interesting local area.

Beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need. Location couldn't be any better with the sea one side and the shops and amenities on the other.

A delightful cottage in the heart of the conservation area of Deal, a stone's throw from both the beach and the town centre alike. Close to good pubs and eateries. Although compact, appearance is deceptive as the very best use is made of the interior space. An intriguing mix of traditional meets modern with beamed ceilings and a wood burning stove in the lounge and up to date, modern, well equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower. Bedrooms over two floors are immaculate with comfortable beds, good quality linen and innovatively designed storage space. Unlike many of these cottages in Deal the stairs are very manageable. There is no garden, but there is a small, private outside area, with seating provided where you can sit and catch the morning sun. Parking permit available. Well presented and immaculate throughout, with the best landlady ever ! We return again and again,
