Lovely house, lots of space, great location and exceptionally clean. Our only criticism would be the dish washer didn't always clean properly and the tumble dryer didn't dry. However - these are very small issues and we would definitely stay there again.

Had a lovely stay and here which was quite central to some pretty spectacular scenery. In the beginning had a minor issue with the heating system which the owner was very prompt in getting resolved. Aviemore is an ideal area to set up as a base with Inverness less than 30 minutes away. The house is based on the outskirts which made it convenient to not have to travel through town should it become busy. This is a place I would most definitely consider coming back to again as the house is a credit to it's owner. The view of the mountains from the bedroom window was great making you feel really relaxed.

We had a very wintery February week at Alt Mor. The cottage was very cosy with underfloor heating and a woodburner. The rooms were spacious and the storage was good. The was ample parking and the area was nice and quiet. we had mountain views from the upstairs windows. As we were fell walking it was good to have a utility room which we used as a drying room and the tumble dryer came in very useful too. The teenagers loved the pool table in the garage. One of the towel rails didn't work and the patio doors upstairs leaked so the property could probably do with a little tlc to bring it back to standard. There wasn't an information book about the house or local services in the area that we could see but fortunately we are familiar with the Aviemore area anyway.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay at Allt Mor and that you found the Cottage to be cosy and warm during the cold winter weather. Since your stay, we have upgraded and replaced the towel rails and fans in all three of the bedrooms. The upstairs patio doors and the patio doors in the living room will be replaced during March (2016). We hope to welcome you back to Allt Mor in the near future.

Good location. Well laid out house. Modern kitchen. Lovely woodburner. Nice house but needs some thought for practicalities. Dressing table with mirror for main bedroom. Provide a hair dryer for the property. Under floor heating non responsive to controls. Only enough hot water for 2 showers at a time. With 3 of us we managed ok to stagger the showers at different times of the day. No coat hooks in porch or hall, only at the back of the house in the utility room. Towel rails. Decent clothes airer especially as tumble dryer does not dry clothes. Mattress covers keep coming off bed when used. For a 4 star property I expected a bit more.

This was our second visit and we have already booked for next year. It is home from home and the owners are wonderful hosts only a phone or text away if you have a problem (I couldn't find the Wifi box). It's is a little out of the centre of the village but it is walkable and there are shops near. Definitely a favourite of ours and we have stayed in other properties in Aviemore.

The cottage is in a convenient location for transport links and shopping, although not in a scenic country setting. You can see the Cairngorms from the upstairs windows. The rooms are large and comfortable with the exception of the downstairs bedroom which was poorly furnished. There was plenty of storage but we would have liked chairs in the bedrooms. It was good to have the heating on as it was unseasonably cold outside but it was much too hot and very difficult to control. (We did phone the owner about this twice but it was not really resolved). Also the heating and the floorboards were very creaky both day and night. The kitchen equipment was barely adequate; there were only 3 teaspoons, no toast rack or cafetiere, only one dishwasher tablet and no clothes washing powder. The fridge was not turned on when we arrived, neither was the hot water. The property feels a bit unloved and suffers from not having a caring owner on site or nearby. There was no file of information about local attractions, eating places or emergency numbers. The mobile signal was good and the wifi useful
