A 2 storey cottage finished and equipped to a good standard located on the outskirts of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park with lovely loch views.

Alder Cottage is a lovely detached property which sits on the hillside beside three other holiday cottages and the owner’s home overlooking Loch Long and the Firth of Clyde, near Dunoon and is situated within the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Sited close to the Argyll Forest which offers numerous forest tracks, marked walks and cycleways, all easily accessible and right on your doorstep. On the ground floor there is an open plan living area with a wood burner, with feature glass hearth. There is also a shower room and separate toilet and a double bedroom downstairs. Large patio doors leading out onto a deck with magnificent views over the sea and hills beyond and complete with garden furniture. There is access to a barbecue area in the shared garden surrounding the cottage.
Nearby, the magnificent woodland gardens at Benmore Botanic Gardens are well worth a visit while the town of Dunoon is within easy reach and has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Take a Steamer cruise and explore the hills and lochs of the Cowal Peninsula.
Known as Argyll’s secret coast the Cowal Peninsula is tucked away in a small corner of Argyll on the west coast of Scotland. Bordered by Loch Fyne and the Kyles of Bute, it’s an area of stunning natural beauty, with hills, glens, rugged coastlines, white beaches, clear waters and ancient forests.
Argyll’s secret coast is packed with places to visit and things to do, and sailors, walkers, cyclists and artists are all drawn to this area for its natural beauty. Explore the forests and coastline by foot, bike, kayak or boat. Abundant with wildlife with deer, buzzards, otters, golden eagles, red squirrels and even, if you’re very lucky, basking sharks while you are out and about. The whole area is steeped in Highland history and dotted with ruins, castles and ancient sites. A short drive takes you to Portavadie with its new Marina and the ferry over to Tarbert to explore the Kintyre Peninsula with ferries to the Islands of Islay, Jura and Arran. Beach 600 yards. Your cottage was perfect for our needs. We really needed a week of rest and relaxation and we found it at Alder Cottage. The cottage was extremely well equipped- the kitchen utensils and bakeware were more than we could have hoped for. The books at the cottage were varied and I read two of them during our stay (we left one that Mark had finished). The DVDs and jigsaw was also a bonus. The boys enjoyed the quad biking - excellent tuition and views! The beds were so very comfortable and the peace meant we all slept well. Comfortable furniture and a gorgeous log burning stove made the cottage the cosy retreat we had so hoped for- afternoons and evenings reading beside it with the amazing views of the loch was our paradise. Thank you so very much for an amazing holiday.

A great place to stay very quiet and peaceful. Our only concern were the door knobs that we found difficult to operate and were unable to open at times.
