We had a fantastic week at the cottage, very clean, warm cosy cottage. Anne had a pot of tea ready to go when we arrived and gave us lots of information on places to eat and visit with the dogs, lovely enclosed garden, it was perfect for the dogs and a great porch to clean dogs off before entering the cottage. The kitchen is small but is well equipped, fry paying handle doesn't wobble any more (mentioned in previous review) , as it only needed the screw tightened, dishwasher worked perfectly fine too. Track down to cottage is a farm track but it is not as bad as previous reviews have said, it's a typical farm track but a small part of the road up to the cottage. Loved seeing all the wildlife, dogs loved the long walks and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Bedrooms and bathrooms were great, loved the upstairs bedroom with dressing room and bathroom. Will definitely book this cottage again and will highly recommend to all my friends and family!!

We enjoyed our stay at Acorn Barn for October half term. It is very cosy and it was nice to have decent sofa's that had plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen is tiny and is not very well equipped in terms of pans; there were two lids in total. The frying pan also needs renewing as the handle is wobbly and it doesn't sit flat on the cooker. The oven smokes a lot so I think needs a deep clean. This would have mattered too much if the extractor fan in the kitchen worked which it didn't. The dishwasher also has seen better days. It didn't do a great job and my husband kept having to fix the top shelf. However none of these things ruined our holiday. There wasn't a hoover and when we phoned we were given one but the handle was broken and it didn't work very well. The owners were impossible to get hold of before we left and I ended up phoning the booking agent re key collection.

This is such a lovely place to stay, very warm and cozy, the owner was very friendly and it was a perfect base to explore the East Coast. The upstairs bedroom/dressing room/bathroom was wonderful, the other downstairs bedrooms were also very nice, although the double bedroom was a little dark due to it not having a proper window, but it's only a minor issue. The dogs were very safe, and loved the enclosed garden, a few reviews mention having to go around the property to access this, but there's a really warm porch at the back, newly added, which meant we could dry them off before letting them in the house. The Kitchen is small, but well equipped, we cooked a couple of times, but tended to eat out as a treat. There's a great pub in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, a couple of miles away called the Red Lion, the food is incredible! As is the Indian - The Bombay Clay oven, in the Black Swan pub in Foggerthorpe, we got a take out on the last night and it was delicious. The drive to get to the cottage is pretty bad, but we managed it, and it's the reason I gave location 9 instead of 10, otherwise we'd have given it full marks across the board. Highly recommend this cottage. The local area, if you didn't want to drive to the coast, has some lovely towns near by, we especially liked Pocklington, and the cheese/beer shop in Bubwith called the Jug and Bottle is worth a little trip. We had a lovely time and felt very relaxed by the end of it, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We all had an amazing time in your beautiful cottage, we had such a lovely welcome which was so informative and helpful and the cottage was so cozy, clean and relaxing. Our daughters loved seeing the horses and we enjoyed listening to all the birds. A highlight was seeing the owl out the window while eating our breakfast. Thank you so much for a lovely stay, a true little gem hidden away.
