The cottage was a great base for attending a Ruby wedding and a 100th Birthday celebration close by. Our family all enjoyed the spaciousness and high levels of equipment and standard of property. The setting was so tranquil and playing poo sticks on the door step was particularly enchanting.

It was the perfect place for a family gathering. The cottage felt like a home where we could relax in comfort. Even the sun shone. Loved it. Y

We booked the cottage for a long weekend surprise birthday party and we were very impressed with how comfortable, warm and well appointed West Barn was. The kitchen is great for big dinners having every utensil we needed and the living rooms got plenty of comfy chairs, books, games, TV, a sound system etc. The upstairs is well appointed the only downside is the two double rooms are on the small side and have to share the bathroom. That said the master bedroom has a nice ensuite and the childrens twin single bed room is large and has toys and TV. The setting is just right next to a river with a sloping garden which was great for the children well within striking distance for Matlock/Bakewell/Peakdistrict. We would go again and recommend

The barn was beautiful and a lovely size for us all (6 adults and 2 children). It was very comfortable and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. The only thing to be improved are the directions - we arrived in 3 cars and no one found it easily. Small issue which can be resolved.
