We had the most amazing week in the cosy, comfy and quaint cottage. Richard and Lisa (owners) went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. They made sure it was perfect for my elderly mother and I and met all our requests with a smile and a genuine willingness to help, something not afforded many guests nowadays! After a very frenetic year in London, I really needed a complete break and as a carer for my mother I don’t really do ‘chilling out’ but having arrived at The Nook exhausted and frazzled yet I left refreshed, rested and recharged, the cottage was the perfect antidote to London life! The cottage is actually bigger than it looks online and was absolutely spotless with everything you would ever need. The sofa bed was so comfy and the whole cottage was lovely and warm with a fab power shower, internet was great as was my mobile signal (EE). Richard and Lisa have put a lot of thought into the cottage and deserve every success as it is without doubt one of best cottages we have stayed in and there have been dozens. There is so much to do in the beautiful Forest of Dean, we had a lot of rain and some snow so didn’t get out as much as we normally would but there are many attractions for all ages and the cottage is so amazing, to stay in was no hardship with the huge tv, dvd library and comfy sofas! The garden is beautiful and we were there when it was covered in snow, and it looked lovely. I could go on and on, in short, book it, enjoy it and we were honoured to be able to spend a week with such lovely hosts in their idyllic cottage. 2 hours from London but a million miles away!

We enjoyed a very warm and comfortable week at The Nook in early November. The accommodation is lovely and the furnishings of a high quality. We used the wood burner which was very efficient and made the most of the huge tv! The cottage is well situated for visiting many places in the Forest of Dean and Wales and although we found plenty to do, we looked forward to returning to the cottage at the end of the day.

Beautiful cottage, immaculately furnished. The owners were extremely helpful and kind. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here. We selected to stay here for the rural location, but it is also not far away from shops etc for those whom want a bit more bustle.

We have stayed in several holiday cottages and this one is definitely the best one we have used. Lovely and comfortable, owners were incredibly thoughtful by having the heating on timer as the cottage was always warm, especially when returning from a day out when the weather was a bit chilly. As with previous reviewer, we had some of the best nights sleep in the exceptional comfortable bed! Plenty to do and see in the area provided you dont mind travelling an hour, like Bath, Bristol, Weston-Super-Mare, etc.. however, the Forest of Dean is great, especially if you like cycling or walking. Would 100% recommend this cottage.

This is a virtually new property and the owners have gone to a lot of trouble to prepare it. As we were only the third users, we gave them feedback on our experience direct - not complaints, just feedback - and we are sure that they will keep improving the property. We had a very comfortable stay and we will return when we visit the Forest of Dean again.
