The property was very dark and the bedroom was damp. It was cold for the time of year and heating controlled by the owner so was only on when she needed heating. There were electric heaters available but they did not help the problem of damp clothes that were kept in the bedroom! I was concerned when there were no pictures of the bathroom on the website and it to be with good reason!!! The sofas in the lounge were filthy with an overwhelming smell of what can only be described as wet dogs! The property is in dire need of a complete renovation. Very disappointing as this was the only holiday I will have this year and was hoping to return home feeling chilled and relaxed. Instead I feel cheated and robbed of my hard earned money

Due to lack of communication they weren't expecting us, but quickly made the place presentable. We were then welcomed with a slice of cake . We found it very comfortable although a little cold at night. The Miner's Arms were very friendly with dogs allowed. With great food. The forest is within 5 minutes walk and absolutely brilliant. We loved the area and the friendliness of the locals. A great holiday.

Drive was difficult - steep, loose gravel, bumpy. We had to open & shut the gate, with the car sticking out into the road. Heating was inconsistent - we had no control. Radiators were cold at 8pm. Shower was usually warm rather than hot most of the time, and cramped with low pressure - more of a warm sprinkle than a hot shower. Sitting room was gloomy - not enough lights, especially dining area. No clocks at all. Pleasant sitting room, but overall there were too many shortcomings.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. The driveway has been resurfaced, and there is ample off road space to safely stop a vehicle while opening or closing the gate. In addition to the central heating there are plug in radiators provided. The hot water temperature has been adjusted to provide hotter water. Additional lighting has also been added in the lounge.

Great location, and a warm welcome, but we had to run a hoover over the cottage to rid ourselves of numerous spiders and webs. The weather was cool and wet, we had no access to the heating and no towel rail, drying clothes and towels was very difficult.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. Following this review we changed our cleaner, and spot check ourselves to ensure the cleaning is maintained at a high standard. A clip on radiator clothes drier has been added, and there are clothes hooks in the bathroom and bedroom to hang damp towels. The oil central heating is on a pre-set timer, but there are additional plug in radiators provided.
