Ideal for golfing enthusiasts, this wooden lodge with a private hot tub, overlooks the fairways of Caldecott Hall Golf Club.

The Shank is part of the exclusive Fairway Lakes Village, a Scandinavian designed wooden lodge development overlooking the fairways of the 400-acre Caldecott Hall Golf Club, situated on the fringes of the Norfolk Broads National Park. Sit in the hot tub and enjoy the views or relax in the living room which offers children’s games, a large beanbag and a telescope. On-site, guests can enjoy the facilities of The Barnworks Fitness and Spa (at cost), including an indoor heated swimming pool. With two 18-hole golf courses you can improve your game and relax afterwards in the clubhouse where hot food is served (seasonal opening times). ‘Catch and Release’ fishing in the lakes is permitted on request. Adopt a horse from the on-site Redwings Horse Sanctuary or visit the Somerleyton Estate. Further afield is the traditional seaside resort of Great Yarmouth or the cathedral city of Norwich. Both north Norfolk and Suffolk Heritage coasts deserve a day trip, as well as the quaint market towns of Beccles and Bungay. The property was awarded Gold standard by the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) in September 2012 for environmental sustainability, with water efficient taps and showers, recycling and composting are encouraged. It was just perfect, spotlessly clean, attention to detail was fantastic. Flowers and wine on arrival was lovely touch and the hot tub was enjoyed by all. A perfect place to unwind and enjoy time together. Thank you to Pippa and Damien - you have it spot on!!

June 2017. Stayed at The Shank with my elderly Mum. More than ideal for the both of us, and would suit a family or two couples.Very comfy, well-equipped accommodation, and perfect setting. Can't rate this property highly enough. Spacious inside and out. Views over the small lake and golf course are fabulous, and the ducks were entertaining. The pics on the web site don't do it justice. We had a relaxing, enjoyable stay. Thank you Pippa and Damien.

The lodge was beautiful and couldn't really fault it apart from the fact we found it difficult to sleep as the place was far to hot. Couldn't find a way to cool down the rooms - disappointed by that but over all well worth the stay

The lodge was excellent in itself. Although the hot tub was dirty so we only used it once, as this was not one of the main reasons we booked this lodge it was not a big problem. All of the crockery in the kitchen cupboards were plastic and had obviously been through the dishwasher a lot of times as they were tainted and scratched a lot. We did manage to find some other porcelain crockery in the dining area but all we used and the cutlery we used had to washed first. Although this sounds like quite a long complaint it is not a reason for us not to want to return.
