It was perfect for what we wanted, which was a week away from everyone and everything. The only things I would comment on are 1 - The shower was a bit cold. They had just had a new boiler put in and the water temperature wasn't quite high enough. When we spoke to the owner he explained he would rather not mess around with the temperature because if anyone is hurt by the temperature of the water it would be bad. Whilst I completely understand this, and it is better to be safe than sorry, the temperature could have gone up quite a bit without even getting close to hot enough to scold someone. For me, the shower was too cold and would potentially put me off returning. 2 - The heating. Whilst the décor of the cottage was lovely, the stone floors made it very cold and the radiators were only on first thing in the morning and then later on in the evening. During the days we went out this was fine but for the couple of afternoons we spent in the cottage it was almost unbearably cold. During the summer im sure this isn't really a problem but during the winter months potentially leave the heating on a little longer in the morning and put it on a bit sooner at night. The only other thing is the folder with things to do. Whilst I think its a really good idea to have the folder and with the relevant things in it would be very useful. When looking through it I found it to be very unorganised and also out of date, for example there was a leaflet in there with things to do summer 2011. I feel this could be kept updated and it would make a big difference. Other than the things above the cottage was lovely and perfect for what we were looking for. Thankyou for having us.

Comfortable, light and modern barn conversion with wonderful views and friendly hosts. The main drawback for us was the long, very narrow and winding lane that had to be negotiated to reach the cottage. We didn't feel brave enough to tackle this after dark so were unable to go out in the evenings and it became dark not long after 4 pm! However, during the daytime this is a splendid area to explore with interesting towns like Chepstow and Monmouth to visit and all the scenic splendours of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.
