We all had a fantastic time in Ivy Cottage. A real home from home, the cosy, comfortable cottage had everything we needed. Set in beautiful quiet grounds with friendly owners. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Would have loved to have stayed longer, hoping to visit again in the future.

Unfortunately our daughter was very unwell during our stay and involved a trip to hospital by ambulance Penny and Steve couldent have been more helpful and kind This was our second stay at Ivy Cottage and we will definitely be back

Ivy Cottage is a lovely cosy cottage in beautiful grounds. The owners being delightful and friendly. The location also is very beautiful. However for our needs with two dogs and a teenager plus the two of us the cottage was a little too small. As we were not able to make full use of the gardens due to the very wet weather. For a smaller family we would not hesitate to recommend this cottage.

Penny and Steve offer a fabulous holiday cottage with everything you could need or want: beautifully clean and lots of thoughtful touches from a cream tea, shampoo, soap and lovely fluffy towels If you love cooking there's everything you need from a sharp knife to a sive to a set of scales!!: even a slow cooker! The garden (huge and peaceful and you can freely wander and enjoy as much as you like) wildlife is fabulous. With no end of birds, squirrels and bats! A must if you want the best of west Wales... we will most definitely be back😁😁 Thank you Penny and Steve

We loved our stay at Ivy Cottage! Penny and Steve are friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. The generous welcome pack was impressive and what a treat to arrive with cream tea all laid out ready! (homemade scones we're delicious!). A supply of essentials like milk, tea, coffee, sugar & shampoo was also an unexpected bonus! Ivy cottage is extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean, warm and cosy! Its located within the large, quiet and pretty grounds of the owners B&B. I found it reassuring to know that I could easily find Penny and Steve if I needed anything (not that I did!) The cottage itself has an enclosed private garden with a gate that leads out into the rest of the grounds that you are free to explore! Great for dogs owners with it's stream, wooded area and lake to enjoy! (Lovely summer house to sit in looking out over the lake) The location is great with plenty of local attractions within easy reach by car, especially some stunning beaches and coastal walks! Nearby Newcastle Emlyn is a great little town where you have access to a small supermarket, banks, pubs, tea rooms, gift shops, and a market on Fridays. I would definitely recommend Ivy Cottage to others and I am already planning my return visit. Thank you!

The cottage smelt damp as did all our belongings when arriving home. The bath was very slow draining and had hair already in the plug hole catcher. The kitchen sink was slow draining too. Beds were comfortable though.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are sorry you weren't satisfied with your stay in ivy cottage. We would like to assure you that there is no damp at all in the cottage. It is an old building with very thick walls and all we can think of is that it may have smelt a bit musty as it had not been used for a few weeks. If you had told us about the problems with the drainage we could have fixed it for you in 5 minutes, it was just a build up of leaves in the outside drain and is now sorted, but thank you for drawing our attention to it. We hope you had an enjoyable stay in spite of these problems, we always try to make sure the cottage is as comfortable and functional as we can,but sometimes things get missed, so our apologies again.
