Lovely lodge enjoyed our stay there. A lot of thought has been given as how to make the lodge comfortable and homely. We have stayed at a lot of cottages and Glenhowl was the best. Enjoyed the views and was very peaceful. Thankyou

The setting of this property is absolutely perfect. Inside there is everything you could possibly need even down to the little things such as scissors. The lodge was very clean, comfortable and felt like a home from home. The enclosed back garden meant we could let our dogs out without fear of them escaping. Locally there are lots of picturesque walks. Small local shops weren't far away and the furthest supermarket was probably a 20 min drive which can't be grumbled at when you're driving through such beautiful scenery! The road outside the lodge was very quiet. We spent many a cosy night watching the birds dart about and were even lucky enough to have birds of prey outside the window too. We would definitely return to this property.

Very enjoyable holiday. Lovely comfortable and warm cottage in a stunning location with beautiful views! Lovely cakes on arrival was a welcoming surprise. Lots of lovely walks and cafes in surrounding area (a short drive away). Beautiful walks in the Gallaway Park nearby and an outdoor activity centre is not far away - good for keeping teenagers busy or active adults!

Delightful and cosy with all home comforts provided...great views and walks from the lodge. Glenhowl is an ideal base to explore the Dumfries and Galloway area or just to simply relax and soak up the stunning views from the Lodge.

We had a fantastic stay at Glenhowl Lodge. Louise the owner was so friendly and helpful. This is one of the prettiest cottages we have stayed at and would definitley book again. The furniture and decor are outstanding and the beds were so comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with all you need for a self catering holiday and the utility room was perfect for our dogs and muddy boots. Plenty of walks from your door or just a short drive to the Galloway Forest Park.

A well equipped home from home. The only downside was it's distance from Castle Douglas (about 20 miles) which added many miles to most days out. The nearest village (4miles) has a good pub with good food and a small shop. There were problems with the timing of the heating and hot water which took a couple of days to sort out.

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments. We are surprised by the 6 out of 10 for location, given it is as advertised in a rural location and so guests can decide prior to booking whether it is suitable for them. As far as the heating timer taking two days to fix, the sooner I am made aware of any issues the sooner I can resolve things. I take customer satisfaction very seriously and do everything I can to help if there is an issue, I am very sorry you were not completely satisfied with your stay.

Relaxing week at the cottage. Very well equipped comfortable holiday home. SKY TV and good mobile coverage a bonus. Owners friendly and on hand should we have needed anything. Would definitely recommend.
