Rare animals to spot are otters, polecats, feral goats, red-billed chough, peregrine falcon, red kite and get down low to find the famous rainbow beetle.

Adrenalin junkies will be pleased to find themselves in the zip line capital of the world and those who prefer to watch can enjoy the cafe with a viewing platform to get close to the action. History and culture buffs can visit the UNESCO designated castles and towns of Caernarvon and Conwy with some of the most significant sites in the world.

There are some wonderful beaches, a great favourite is Black Rock Sands with a wide open stretch of golden sand, caves and rock pools, perfect for a day out and picnic on the coast. Many of the beaches have restrictions if you have a dog at certain times of the year so it’s always worth checking.

Just outside the national park is Portmeirion built between 1925-1975 in the style of an Italian village.
