With a fabulous coastline, lovely landscape, walking and cycling paths, pretty towns and villages plus a wonderful choice of fishing cottages on Anglesey, you can’t go far wrong taking a holiday on Wales’ largest island. You really do need to come and see for yourself and by using the extensive feature list you can easily find your perfect cottage such as detached with an enclosed garden if taking young children or pets, near the coast with a sea view or perhaps more rural but a pub within walking distance.
As soon as you cross the Menai Suspension Bridge high above the menacing Menai Straits then set off in the direction of your fishing holiday cottages on Anglesey, you know you have arrived on a magical island. There is so much to do and see plus fabulous fishing and with over 125 miles of stunning coastal path you won’t find it hard to find your perfect spot for fishing. You will soon appreciate why much of the coastline has been declared an AONB. Shore fishing on the island is very popular and you can always find a sheltered spot. There are numerous points near Rhosneigr and Aberffraw for shore and boat angling, both the beaches at Rhosneigr have good access and you can catch turbot, flounder and bass.
Holyhead Breakwater is an excellent place for fishing, whether you dangle your rod over the inner harbour or on the seaward side, Breakwater Park is an award winning green space for those not quite so hooked on fishing. The rocks at Porth Dafarch, just outside Trearddur Bay,are a nice spot and you can catch pollock, whiting, and dogfish amongst others.
There are many fishing sea boat charters, some suitable for all the family to enjoy the wildlife, puffins and seals on Puffin Island. The fishing around Anglesey is amongst the best in Wales and boats run out of Beaumaris suitable for experts and beginners; rod hire is available and free bait. You will be spoilt for choice between Benllech, Amlwch and North Anglesey Heritage coast, the anglers will be happy and the non-anglers even more so with lovely walks and coast to explore.
The coarse anglers may prefer LlynBlodyn and Llyn y Gors near the Menai Bridge, both scenic locations and easy to get to, you can carp, rudd, tench and roach.
