Scotland maybe a land of mountains, glacial glens and lochs, a wilderness hard to find these, but also boasts major cities and a rich history plus the first game of golf played at St Andrews in the 1400’s. Fife boasts world class golf courses, blustery beaches and charming fishing villages and Angus has breath-taking scenery, rolling hills and glens and white beaches. Perthshire has world class fishing rivers and fish ladders to watch migrating salmon leaping plus walks suitable for ‘wee’ legs. Stirlingshire is brimming over with thigs to do and see, visit Stirling and join an Old Town tour with a mix of comedy, drama and storytelling.
Northern Scotland is unbelievably beautiful and never fails to surprise and delight. Aberdeenshire, as well as the ‘granite city’, is home to a fabulous coastline perfect for family holidays and outdoor enthusiasts can venture to the Cairngorms. The Highlands can be explored on the NC500 driving route with lots of places to stop off, explore and stretch your legs. John o’Groats is Britain’s most north-eastern tip and from here you can catch the ferry to the Orkney Islands. On the west coast is the pretty town of Ullapool with ferries taking you to the Outer Hebrides. There are famous lochs and stunning canals plus Britain’s highest peak, Ben Nevis, you won’t be short of family fun things to do here.
