Known for several ghostly legends, the Hall welcomes visitors who want to spend time in the darkened hall at Halloween. Just a few miles away is Hook lighthouse, which is definitely worth the trip.
For a great day out for the whole family, a trip to Kilkenny Castle could be the perfect option. County Kilkenny has many attractions like this, but the advantage to this is that it is located right in the heart of Kilkenny City. The castle dates back to the Normans and there are walking trails and a playground for younger children. There is an art collection housed in the castle’s Butler Gallery, and there are regular temporary exhibits.
With so much beautiful scenery in this part of the world, it would be a shame to spend all your time in south-east Ireland in the towns and villages. The Comeragh Mountains in County Waterford are within easy reach of the city of Waterford. Spend a little time hiking here and you can make the most of some of the best views in the region. There are several different trails that you can follow, depending upon your level of ability.
