Kent Downs Cottages

The Kent Downs are a designated AONB and well known for their exceptional splendour and include ten named areas with lovely self-catering accommodation. It really is an enchanting place with a stunning landscapes combining, history, drama and intimacy.

With a dramatic south facing scarp, secluded dry chalk valleys and a network of tiny quiet lanes, choosing perfect holiday cottages in the Kent Downs couldn’t be more pleasurable. By using our extensive feature list such as enclosed garden, pub or village within walking distance or part of our luxury collection, you can easily find your perfect cottage and the choice really is yours.

Add to this, historic churches, castles and oasts, the dramatic white cliffs, ancient woodland and chalk grassland you really can beat it if you want to see and explore a natural quintessential English landscape and feel, hear and smell the sea.

Scotney Castle Garden provides a fabulous vantage point to take in the views over the Kent Downs countryside, enjoy the 14th century castle and estate walks.

Some of the notable hills to ascend are Betsom’s Hill (the highest point in Kent at 251 meters), Blue Bell Hill, Castle Hill, Detling Hill, Summerhouse and Tolsford Hill, all lovely walks and very accessible for everyone.
