Cornwall Cottages

The beautiful county of Cornwall is one that has been popular with tourists and with a growing number of rural cottages in Cornwall, finding somewhere to stay is not going to be a problem. The attraction of the county is not difficult to work out – there is around 300 miles of coastline that is just waiting to be explored as well as the picturesque villages inland.

With plenty of attractions to keep you and the whole family busy, Cornwall will definitely become a holiday to remember. Country cottages in Cornwall mean that you are well placed to visit attractions such as The Eden Project – perfect for those who have an interest in all things horticultural. It also doesn’t matter what the weather is like, which is always a bonus!

The coastal town of Padstow is popular with visitors, particularly those who want a little more than the standard fish and chip supper. The range of seafood restaurants here has grown in recent years thanks to the presence of chef Rick Stein in the area, who also has his own seafood restaurant here.

Art enthusiasts will love to visit St Ives, a favourite with painters for decades. Home to one of the Tate Galleries, there are thousands of tourists that come here each year. However, not everybody is aware that the town also has literary connections. Why not take a walk to Godrevy Lighthouse, reputedly Virginia Woolf’s inspiration for her novel ‘To the Lighthouse’? Alternatively, just grab a picnic and take the kids to the beach where they can happily play all day.

Renting a cottage in the country in Cornwall means that you have the opportunity to visit some of the most picturesque villages that England has to offer. Two of these are Kingsand and Cawsand, long associated with the county’s smuggling past. They are off the usual tourist trail so are ideal if you want to visit a tranquil area for a few hours. Located on the Rame Peninsula, they are also known for fine seafood restaurants thanks to the local fishing industry.

Visit Fowey in August and you get to see something of the Royal Regatta. Without doubt one of the most spectacular events in the Cornish calendar, each year thousands of tourists descend on Fowey for this event, which is more than just boats. A visit from the Red Arrows, a carnival and a fireworks display all form part of the itinerary.

A visit to Cornwall also means that you are well-placed to visit neighbouring Devon too. Why not book your countryside cottages in Cornwall today?
