England Cottages

With over 7,000 miles of wonderful coastline, it should come as little surprise that England also plays host to some truly wonderful coastal cottages. From the wild, blustery coastline of Yorkshire to the cream teas and clear waters of Cornwall, England has a whole host of beautiful cottages by the sea, and we have a great range of seaside cottages for you to choose from.

Whatever it is you’re looking for, we’re sure to have it. Many of our coastal cottages have sea views, as well as enclosed gardens and other home comforts. In Kent, you can stay in beautiful Broadstairs, for example, where your choices range from a Victorian seafront apartment to a stunningly modernised and revamped former smugglers’ cottage in Margate. In darling Devon, you can stay in a coastal apartment with views of the harbour in Ilfracombe, or alternatively, head north to Yorkshire where Whitby hides a wealth of treasures, including classic stone cottages, many of which are just a short walk from the coast.

Wherever you choose to spend your time while exploring England’s coast, you’re sure not to run out of things to do and places to see. In Suffolk, you can stop by Aldeburgh, famous for its festival but a real treat for the senses whenever you visit, with a historic cinema that has stood since 1919, cosy fisherman’s huts lining the beach, which still sell the freshest of fish, and dreamy, pastel-hued 19th century villas with views over the sea. In Lowestoft, you can get your fill of culture at the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, while also keeping the kids happy by taking a trip to the zoo, a theme park, or going for a horse ride along the lovely beach.

Sussex is home to Brighton, one of the country’s most famous seaside towns, and is a perennial favourite with weary Londoners seeking a little sun and respite from the rat race, with quick, easy links to the capital via train or car. We have some lovely properties available on the Sussex coastline, including cosy cottages with serious beach hut vibes and a private path right down to the sea. Just as famous, but not quite as busy or bustling as Brighton, Hasting’s heyday might well be long past but it’s still worth a visit, not just for its role in long-gone battles that have defined British history but also for a taste of Victorian seaside splendour, which has left its mark on its genteel promenade.Wherever you stay while on your seaside holiday in England, you’ll be certain of a cosy, comfortable cottage, and maybe even blessed with a sea view if you choose one of our lovely seaside cottages.
