3rd visit to Ynys & even more lovely than previous visits. Redecorated & new carpets & sofas in the living room, giving it a more modern feel (it felt more traditional before but still very comfy & cosy!). Definitely recommend. It’s so lovely waking up in the main bedroom & being able to see across the fields to the hills. We have 2 teenagers & both enjoy staying here. They love the bedrooms they each have (they especially love the fact there is Wi-Fi which of course is extremely important to them lol!). The games room is open now (previous visits it had been closed due to covid restrictions), a pool table, dart board, table football to keep them occupied & a comfy sofa for them to chill on. It’s so peaceful & then just a short drive into Barmouth itself for the hustle & bustle of the seaside town & activities. You can walk to the small train station at Dyffren from the cottage (about 15/20 mins stroll) and catch the train to Barmouth & beyond in one direction & Porthmadog and further in the other. A visit to Porthmadog to the Purple Moose Brewery is always done via train so a few local craft beers can be had! Driving to Porthmadog is about 25/30 mins (beautiful drive) to the fairly large Tesco for shopping. Although I highly recommend the Spa shop in the village of Dyffren as it’s so well stocked!

Nice stone cottage, good position, no direct access to sea, and no sea view, but otherwise great. Loved the games room.

Spotlessly clean. Wonderfully quiet. Comfortable bed. Lovely owners. Lots of walks, beaches, pubs and castles. Could have done with a coffee table and some lamps in the sitting room. We had a great week.
