A lovely, cosy apartment, the ground floor of a pretty cottage. Spotlessly clean, with everything you could need. 200m or less from the lake. Public footpaths on your doorstep, and a little stream on the other side. The location could not be better. Easy private parking right outside. From the windows you can watch the screes of Wast water turn red with the setting sun. Friendly and helpful host, good communication and directions. Some very nice touches, milk in the fridge, biscuits, tea and coffee, made you feel welcome on arrival. In short, Beautiful accomodation in an Idylic setting. Highly recommended.

we enjoyed our2 week stay in Yewbarrow it was warm ,comfortable and well equipped and well decorated. we were disappointed that there was not any where to hang our clothed in the double bedroom the cupboard has the water tank in it so we had to hang our coats etc in the wordrobe in the utility room . there was also no coat hooks in the bedrooms or bathroom which we thought were needed.though we could dry our towels on the hestedtowel rail in the utility room.it was good that the house keeper came and gave us fresh towels etc and made up our bed for the 2nd week we love this part of Cumbria and no doubt will be back

One of the best cottage experience we ever had. It was a family break with wife and two kids. The owner was very helpful with right communication and made us feel welcome with a nice Christmas card and gift when we got in. The location doesn't always come up in the sat nav so the landlord gave the driving directions in detail. We reached late evening but there was no problem and the flat was warm. The property we stayed Yew barrow was a ground floor flat and lucky the top floor was unoccupied and the whole stay was serene and peaceful. The location is stunning, you could actually hear the water flowing in the stream nearby. Early morning revealed the stunning mountains around and greeted with lots of birds chirping in the garden. Walk outside and you are only 5 mins walk away from the lake and what a scenery it is! Will visit again. Thanks for the arrangement.

Our holiday had a terrible start due to the INCORRECT key box code being given. After a five hour car journey spending the next three & a half hours trying to access the cottage is totally out of order. If the owner had answered her mobile instead of letting her answer machine take our numerous calls it would have helped! Instead we had to rely on a charming & very concerned lady at the place we had booked through to resolve our NO ACCOMMODATION & NO BED for that night. She gave us the owners home telephone no. & even phoned us the following day to make sure we had managed to access the cottage. We eventually did get to speak to the owner who blamed her Mother for the misinformation & did apologise. However it did not seem enough after all our inconvenience .When booking this cottage make sure the keybox no. is correct it will stop a lot of worry as to where you will sleep for the night!

If you're after a good value cottage in the Lake District, then this is the place for you! The lake is an 8 minute walk, and Middle Fell is jus the other side of the back garden! Fab place, clean and homely with everything one could need while away. Would definitely stay there again.
