Weather helped greatly, used the cottage as a base for visiting surrounding area with our dog. Having the enclosed garden was very helpful too.

Yew Tree Bothy is a nice little place in a very nice village, I found the owner very friendly and helpful. The neighbours were also friendly as were the owners of the local pub, The Lamb Inn. We found plenty to see and do within easy reach of the cottage, by car. There is a little grocer's shop in the village who tries to suit everybody's needs.

The cottage is clean, small but well equipped. Really cosy and well maintained. Carol was friendly and helpful and provided info etc.. Perfect for a couple's retreat and a very relaxing place to stay. Some nice local walks and only a short drive from the peaks. We did stay during the heavy snow so temperatures were very cold. The wood supplied for our first night was not enough or good enough to heat the whole cottage so we were cold the first night. The next day we bought a lot of hard wood and heat specific logs and this was what we needed to heat the entire cottage. So if it's cold I would recommend investing in some good wood and lots of it. There's nothing like the heat of a good fire to make everything even more relaxing. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Lovely little cottage near the peaks. Nice welcome from Carole along with a tea cake! Was a bit cold to start with but the log burner soon sorted that out. Might have been a bit too little for our big dog but small dogs would be more suited.

Difficult to keep warm needed supply of logs. No kitchen bin or kitchen roll. The small extras make all the difference.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. Initial logs for the wood burner are supplied and then available to purchase locally thereafter. The kitchen bin is situated under the kitchen cupboard, we are sorry that you did not find this.
