September 2018 We had a superb stay in a classic thatched cottage called Yeomans Cottage in the very attractive county of Shropshire. If you enjoy walking or visiting quaint old unspoilt towns then this is the place to stay. The welcome tour and potted history by the owner was first class. It is an area that welcomes walkers with their dogs. We had a fabulous time thanks to Zoe and Graham.

We had an excellent two weeks at Yeomans Cottage, as per our previous visit (we stayed for two weeks in August 2017) the adults, boy and three dogs loved the garden - well stocked with damsons, apples and pears, and wonderful for all sorts of games. There are many things to do in the local area, and walks straight from the cottage involving no driving. The cottage is very well equipped, particularly the kitchen, which means it is easy to move straight into. Note - if you visit when it is very hot DEET is a good idea, the cottage is in the countryside and there are biting insects - not a problem at all with DEET spray.

Lovely cottage lots of history in a beautiful location. Despite the history and quirkiness the cottage had everything you could possibly need. The garden was safe for the dogs and perfect for soaking up the sun, and we had plenty of that.! The local pub The Hundred House inn (Purslow) is an easy walk along the quiet road and is perfect for food and a drink in the very nice beer garden. It’s dog friendly too. Shropshire is a beautiful county and we will definitely return

Excellent property, full of charm and original features. Lovely garden in a charming hamlet. Plenty to do in the area. We particularly enjoyed the walk from Yeomans to 'Tea on the Way'. The Brewery at Bishops Castle and a good family meal (with dog) at the Powis Arms were also highlights of our stay. Best of all, quietly sitting in the garden, listening to the lambs, rooks and bees visiting the hive.

We had a wonderful time at Yeoman Cottage. The house itself is very homely and has everything you need. All bed linen etc is very good quality and makes for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Although the cottage is quirky, it was easy to feel right at home. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. All 3 of our dogs were made very welcome and were perfectly safe in the garden with no real opportunity to escape. There are walks straight from the door if you want to leave the car at home but also plenty of lovely places like Ludlow if you want to travel a bit further. Neither of us wanted to leave on the Friday morning and would have asked to book an extra couple of days if there weren't already other guests booked in!

Yeomans is a wonderful cottage with a great history. The location if you want to be away from it all (which I did) is amazing with loads of long walks.
