Wyke School Yard is a good holiday cottage in a nice location. The cottage itself is sparse, nicely decorated and roomy. We were there during Storm Dennis, and it was cosy though a bit noisy with the rattling from the rain and the wind, especially in the kids room. But that’s to be expected - it was a storm. Some of the fixtures are old and in need of repair. Slightly disappointed as we’ve come to expect more from the cottages having lived in several around England - salt and pepper, too much to expect? Perhaps, we’ve been spoilt by other cottages where a pint of milk is always awaiting you so you can make your cuppa after a long drive. That didn’t happen here, but the overall cosiness of the cottage made up for it. We stayed in one day, everyone found their favourite nook and read - most relaxing. Nice restaurants nearby that delivered food to the cottage. On the whole, a pleasant stay.

Lovely and spacious terrcaed house. location great for exploring the local area. Parking can be difficult as it's a narrow cul de sac. Wifi didn't work, neither did heating and owner failed to respond to message asking for assistance.

Lovely cosy cottage, very clean comfy beds and all kitchen equipment you need for your stay. Its an old building with typical small yard at back (no sun gets to it) local shop unfortunately has closed down, so has bakery that's google maps suggest is in next street! but 15 minute walk into Wyke Regis centre is a wide range of shops/take away and fantastic dog friendly pub (The Wyke smugglers). Its an hours walk to sea life centre in Weymouth and only 20 mins to a great coastal path near Chesil Beach.

Overall a nice cottage, however the shabby chic decor can’t disguise the fact this property is lacking in general maintenance. The bins were full and there was some confusion as to which bins had to be put out. There was two sheets of paper with conflicting instructions! Our break was ruined somewhat as we were greeted with scaffolding erected outside our front door. Workmen were using our front porch area to transport their materials up to the rooftop. After speaking to the workmen, it turned out they were doing chimney restoration on next doors property, and they were told that this property would be empty for the duration of the work!! For this reason we left a day early as you don’t expect this when you go away for a few days break!
