Fancy a day trip to Guernsey or Jersey? Weymouth boasts one of the shortest passages across the channel, and there is no better way to experience the wonders of the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline than by sea. Weymouth is an ideal location for south coast cruising holidays, or as a stopover in preparation for a channel crossing to Northern France, or the Channel Islands. A small, but busy port, and arguably one of the most attractive in Europe, it welcomes thousands of transits each year. This attractive part of Weymouth is well worth a visit for no other reason than to simply relax in the charm of such a beautiful old harbour and soak up the atmosphere. Beach 1½ miles. Lovely and spacious terrcaed house. location great for exploring the local area. Parking can be difficult as it's a narrow cul de sac. Wifi didn't work, neither did heating and owner failed to respond to message asking for assistance.

Lovely cosy cottage, very clean comfy beds and all kitchen equipment you need for your stay. Its an old building with typical small yard at back (no sun gets to it) local shop unfortunately has closed down, so has bakery that's google maps suggest is in next street! but 15 minute walk into Wyke Regis centre is a wide range of shops/take away and fantastic dog friendly pub (The Wyke smugglers). Its an hours walk to sea life centre in Weymouth and only 20 mins to a great coastal path near Chesil Beach.

Overall a nice cottage, however the shabby chic decor can’t disguise the fact this property is lacking in general maintenance. The bins were full and there was some confusion as to which bins had to be put out. There was two sheets of paper with conflicting instructions! Our break was ruined somewhat as we were greeted with scaffolding erected outside our front door. Workmen were using our front porch area to transport their materials up to the rooftop. After speaking to the workmen, it turned out they were doing chimney restoration on next doors property, and they were told that this property would be empty for the duration of the work!! For this reason we left a day early as you don’t expect this when you go away for a few days break!

Quaint, would recommend with reservations, the cottage was not particularly clean on arrival and the oven and kitchen utensils contained burnt - on food matter. The crockery and cutlery had been washed but food residue remained. The courtyard had gutter protectors laying spike end up which could have been stood on. The Shower even with the hot water supply running with ample hot water barely got to Luke warm temperature ranging to Arctic cold. The cottage is advertised as being able to use the immediate forecourt with a bench to utilise, this was provided however; this was impossible to use as the overgrown weeds and nettles made it prohibitive. Coupled with waste food bins and other refuse bin boxes being in the same space attracting flying insects. If you desire a holiday whereby you are not concerned by parking your vehicle within a 1/4 mile distance to this location then this will be fine for you. We had read the reviews on the parking issues and accepted that the car would need to be parked on the road where you could find a slot..... However; the local population were hostile to parking issues that tourists cause and this made for parking resulting in a nightly search with angry exchanges if you parked near a locals residence. Overall the cottage is tired requires maintenance and could be almost idyllic. If this had been cared for and readied for this years season of holiday makers and not appearing as though it was at the exhausted state one would find at the end of last years summer season. Consequently we have not rebooked for next year but should the areas mentioned be rectified this cottage would be worth considering. Almost forgot there once was a pub now a block of flats and there is a corner shop..... That never opens!!!! Again not as advertised it is possibly worth reviewing the locations amenities as it would appear that in one Season so very much had changed?!

An excellent stay. The cottage was perfect for us and in a great location for both Weymouth and Portland. On a bus route but we did not need the bus as we had our car. Well equipped cottage and very comfortable. It had everything we needed. The local shop was very close.

Beautiful property. Incredibly cute and welcoming, in a lovely little village. And fantastic value... A lot of house for not that much money. A little way from Weymouth, but with bikes there's a nice ride in largely on cycle paths. Only issue was getting in, as the code for the security box holding the key was wrong, but got in quite quickly nonetheless. Would recommend and will be back
