The holiday property lies within the grounds of Wreaks End Farm, just 1 mile from the market town of Broughton-in-Furness, with its cobbled square, shops, pubs, café and restaurants. The Duddon Valley will delight walkers, mountain bikers, climbers, nature lovers and those who enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside. The tiny villages of Ulpha and Seathwaite are two focal points of the valley. At Ulpha there is a post office/village shop, while Seathwaite, situated near the end of the ancient Walna Scar road, boasts a 16th-century inn, where good home-cooked food, real ales and a warm welcome await, all day all year.
The property is the perfect base from which to explore this part of the Western Lakes, while Windermere, Bowness and many other attractions in the Lake District National Park are all within easy driving distance. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

The owner is lovely and the cottage is pretty, the ceiling fan is a godsend in warm weather! It is dog friendly and there was some lovely treats in the welcome package  Sadly it's not possible to take the dogs for a walk from the cottage because it's directly on a very fast road so we had to put the dogs in the car and drive somewhere to walk them which spoilt the holiday. It also wasn't possible to have the door open for the dogs to wander in and out of the cottage as the only outdoor space is shared with the cottage next door so when they were leaving or coming back their dog was able to dash into our cottage. There aren't any views from the cottage as it's lovely old barns in a courtyard which is fine and very pretty but we had to keep the curtains closed as the barn adjacent could look directly into the lounge. Overall it's a lovely little cottage, the owner is lovely but the road was too busy and noisy for us and it's not ideal for dogs.

We spent a wonderful 14 nights at Crimson Cottage 1-15 July which is very cosy and perfect for a couple. We also had our dog with us and he enjoyed it too as he was able to wonder in and out of the cottage/garden at his leisure. The welcome pack of chocolates, eggs, tea and coffee was very much appreciated and the beautiful flower arrangements was a lovely touch. The cottage has all the facilities you need, good Wi-Fi and access to Smart TV apps such as Netflix, BBC iplayer etc… Shower was good and the Bath was amazing! All in all a very enjoyable experience and would definitely recommend Crimson Cottage as a great place to stay. If you visit Broughton-In-Furness then a meal at the very friendly Black Cock Inn is a must!
