Description

With spectacular views over the rocky coastline, and walks direct from the door this rural crofting house is ideal for nature lovers.

This traditional croft house has an open fire, enclosed garden and walks from the door. There is a secluded beach, with opportunities for loch and sea fishing nearby and an abundance of native wildlife to view. With distant and dramatic views of the Cuillin Hills on the Isle of Skye, this superbly situated, detached home has been renovated and tastefully furnished, and nestles quietly in the hamlet of Culduie. This village was chosen by Man Booker Prize shortlisted author Graeme MacRae Burnet as the setting for his crime story ‘His Bloody Project’. An inn, 3 miles up the coast, is renowned for its local seafood and complements a wider range of places to eat. The route inland from Applecross crosses over the highest motoring road in the British Isles which is part of the famous North Coast 500 route. Shop and pub 3 miles.

Beamed living room with open fire and rugs on tiled floor. Compact well-equipped kitchen with dining area. Utility. Shower room and toilet. First floor: Two bedrooms, each with ornamental fireplace; one double and one twin. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

Absolutely stunning location. The cottage was lovely and had everything you could want including a lovely welcome basket. Sad that I could only stay a short time but I will definitely go back again.

The cottage was comfortable although the decor is a little dated. However, the location is absolutely stunning and the view from the croft was spectacular. It was lovely seeing sheep, lambs, chickens and turkeys roaming freely round the croft. The children in our group enjoyed crabbing off the nearby jetty and landed over 40 crabs in one session!! There are plenty of superb walks from the cottage and despite the mixed weather we had an amazing week. The Applecross Inn serves a great seafood menu and is a must to visit. Overall for its location it is one of the best places we have stayed at in the UK and would recommend it highly.
