We had booked the cottage for 2 weeks. On arrival we found that we had a number of issues These were: 1. No Key for the front entrance door. 2. Undergrowth catching us in the face on the path & front path over run with the undergrowth 3. Washing machine broken - notice suggested had been for a while! 4. No iron - returned initially still broken - took a week to replace it! 5. Rear entrance door difficult to close as it was catching the frame. Most of the items were replaced or repaired by Monday, however we did feel that the quality of our holiday was spoilt by having to get the high number of items repaired!!!

As others have mentioned, this cottage has no wi-fi - our phones had fine reception on EE and plenty of bars/cafes etc close by offer wi-fi. The TV is small and the cottage is quite old fashioned. The cottage is situated on the A82, which is the main road from Inverness to Fort Augustus, we saw this as a bonus as it gave the amazing views but easy access to local area, but if road noise bothers you this may be a consideration. We found the cottage to be clean, cosy and comfortable. There's nothing in walking distance other than the Clansman hotel which has a gift shop and cafe but as it's not dog friendly we didn't go here. Plenty to do a short drive away which wasn't a problem for us. We explored Inverness, Nairn, Findhorn, Embo, Dornoch, Dorea, Foyers, Drumnadrochit, Fort Augustus and climbed Ben Nevis - all easy drives from here. We had an issue with the hot water not working but this was fixed as soon as practically possible which was appreciated. Thought the cottage was excellent value for money, especially given the views! Sure it could be more modern but if it was updated I'd worry the price would go up and/or they'd change their minds about being dog friendly! Would definitely return!!
