    The apartment was disappointing. It was the only place I have ever stayed in my 77 years in which the gas boiler was located in the bedroom, with all the risks of carbon monoxide poisoning. There was no carbon monoxide alarm. In addition, the noise of the boiler kept us awake at night. The furniture was of poor quality and was uncomfortable. There was no information/brochures about the local area; and no books of any type. It was poorly equipped. These days one expects a washing machine and dishwasher as basic equipment; neither was provided. To be charged over £450 -00 for an off peak week in this flat October, which was not a half term holiday, was simply unjustified. To end on a positive note: The owner , Tony, who lives upstairs from the flat, is a helpful and decent person. .

    Response on behalf of the Owner; I am disappointed with the client’s views on the flat. The flat is clean and the furniture is modern and new, whilst some of the points are subjective i.e. comfort of furniture. A few points are factually incorrect. The flat meets all safety requirements and a carbon monoxide monitor is in place and is situated in the bedroom. A washing machine and dishwasher is not advertised as available, however a washing machine is available if required in an outbuilding.
