Have breakfast on the patio, listening to the birdsong at this beautiful cottage, nestled on the edge of the New Forest.

Woodland Retreat is a well appointed, two-bedroom apartment located adjacent to the owner’s home. Set in 6 acres of woodland, on the edge of the village of Winsor, it is tucked away on the fringe of the New Forest. The picturesque market town of Romsey and the delightful village of Lyndhurst, known as the capital of the New Forest, are just a short drive from the cottage. With its wide variety of landscapes and wildlife, the New Forest is a wonderful place to explore, either on foot, on horseback, on bicycles or by car.
The city of Southampton is a 10-minute drive, where a wide range of tastes and appetites are catered for with Chinese, Thai, Italian and Indian restaurants and takeaways, country pubs and fish and chip shops, all within a 5-minute drive. The nearby links to the M27 enable the cottage to be an excellent touring base. There is a good selection of seaside towns to visit including the Isle of Wight from Lymington, which is 15 miles away. Both the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester are only ½-hour drive away, and just beyond Salisbury is Stonehenge. For guests visiting with children, Paultons Park, a theme park offering a family day out with over 50 attractions and rides, is an absolute must. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

A fantastic cottage in a beautiful setting yet close enough to the coast and the new forest for days out.

We enjoyed a lovely week in this superb holiday apartment. The quality and attention to detail in the property were of the highest standard. It was light, airy and comfortable. The setting was idyllic, with views out onto the bluebell wood in which the property is located. It was easy to visit the area from the property, whilst at the same time enjoying the sequestered situation of the location. The proprietor, Marie, was friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Great location. Lots of dog friendly pubs. Fantastic cottage with all mod cons.

This was an amazing cottage. Everything you could want. Home from home. The owner, Marie, is a lovely lady and very helpful. We were snowed in for a couple of days but it was such a nice place just to stay in and enjoy. The deer came in to the garden for a visit and lots of birds too. Brilliant place. Would definitely recommend it.

We've stayed at quite a few cottages now and I would say this was the best of any of them, with a fantastic owner who went out of her way to make our stay a special one. Everything you could possibly need on a short break was supplied, and the owner even found some additional toys for our toddler (that he was completely enamoured with!). Not only that, all the modern appliances were top quality and everything so clean it made you feel like you were the first people to ever stay there. Altogether the cottage and surrounding gardens were exceptional and we are looking forward to going back there again.

A faultless stay from the moment we drove up the lane. The cottage was set in beautiful grounds with a large section of garden and woodland for us to use during our stay. A great private patio led into the cottage. Beautifully laid out inside, pristine clean, very comfortable with everything we needed to make our stay perfect (especially the lemon drizzle cake baked fresh by Marie). The bathroom was great with a fantastic rain shower. The bedroom had plenty of storage and the bed was really comfortable. Lots of brochures supplied with local attractions and Marie, the owner, was on hand to give us extra information on the local areas which were all easy to get to. Great base for fantastic walks, short drive to the coast or into Southampton and Portsmouth. Couldn't fit in everything we would have liked to do. Thanks for such a great stay.

Beautiful cottage with everything we needed. Very clean and immaculate kitchen and modern bathroom. We had a very comfortable stay. Home made cake, fresh bread and tea were a very welcome treat.
