This property is set in lovely surroundings, and is the ideal base to discover Cheadle and the Peak District.

On the fringes of the Staffordshire moorlands, these three lovely mellow brick farm barns (ref E4079, E4080 and W44303), have been beautifully converted into a fabulous holiday retreat. Footpath walking starts from the door, and the glorious Churnet Valley offers steam trains, canal boats and superb walking. Alton Towers is 5 miles, as is cycle hire on the Manifold Trail in the Peak District National Park, and Leek and Ashbourne are under 10 miles. Go indoor skiing, bowling, and swimming at Waterworld which is close by. Tamworth Snowdome, Chatsworth and Ironbridge are all easily accessible. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams. 3 bedrooms: 2 double (5ft), one with en-suite wet room and toilet, 1 single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Spacious, very comfortable, lovely views especially in the early evening. Walks on your doorstep. It is isolated and very quiet, but the town of Cheadle is 10 minutes walk and scarcely 3-5 minutes drive.

A wonderful holiday, Helen made us feel very welcome. Perfect for a family of all ages - Alton Towers just down the road kept the younger one happy :-) peace and quiet was also just perfect.

This is a cheap and cheerful little cottage. The lady who owns it is lovely and very helpful. There was tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, shower gel and especially impressive baby bath gel and a novelty sponge for the children in the cottage when we arrived. The cottage does require some improvements though: It needs a deep clean, we had to clean pans and drawers before we could use them. The uplighters have spiders living in them and there were a lot of cobwebs. The single room has a fire door in it with a push bar, if using this room with a child it’s a big concern for parents, it really should be mentioned in the cottage description. WiFi would be a great addition as the signal isn’t great.

Nice location close to Alton Towers and many other tourist attractions. Unfortunately the cottage requires some upgrading and maintenance.
