Gas included. Freeview TV. DVD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Lawned garden with courtyard, sitting-out area and furniture. On road parking.

All properties: Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Microwave. Shared washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer in laundry room. Dishwasher. Dog exercise area. No smoking.

On the fringes of the Staffordshire moorlands, these three lovely mellow brick farm barns (ref E4079, E4080 and W44303), have been beautifully converted into a fabulous holiday retreat. Boasting a smart interior and views over peaceful, pretty countryside, they sit just 1 mile from shops, pubs and restaurants in the little town of Cheadle. Footpath walking starts from the door, and the glorious Churnet Valley offers steam trains, canal boats and superb walking. Alton Towers is 5 miles, as is cycle hire on the Manifold Trail in the Peak District National Park, and Leek and Ashbourne are under 10 miles. Go indoor skiing, bowling, and swimming at Waterworld which is close by. Tamworth Snowdome, Chatsworth and Ironbridge are all easily accessible. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

The owners left us a cake, milk in the fridge and flowers for arrival which was a nice touch. If you’ve brought your dog, there is plenty of space to walk and play outside. However the decor/furniture is a bit tired and needs a redo. The main bedroom smelt a bit damp (or may be it hadn’t been aired in a while). The oven & oven trays needed a really good clean. Although overall the cottage was clean. Basically I think it was a 3* cottage not 4* as advertised. There are no extras: WiFi (not a big issue but the 4g signal is also fairly patchy), games, books, up to date dvds etc. The outside area was a bit run down and shabby too. We probably wouldn’t return.

We really enjoyed staying at the beeches the only thing we were disappointed with was it was a place for 5 people, the two piece suite in the living room didn’t cater for 5 adults so we had to bring a chair in from garden and the settees were in need of repair. Also the garden furniture there was only again four chairs and we couldn’t use the bench cause it was again in need of repair. Well equipped and clean great location to get you out and about.

Spacious, very comfortable, lovely views especially in the early evening. Walks on your doorstep. It is isolated and very quiet, but the town of Cheadle is 10 minutes walk and scarcely 3-5 minutes drive.

A wonderful holiday, Helen made us feel very welcome. Perfect for a family of all ages - Alton Towers just down the road kept the younger one happy :-) peace and quiet was also just perfect.
